A family trip was difficult this summer with Covid. Tom Freer, Jordan and JP of ARTA made it work. Three boats, 1 for each faimily, a night at Camp Lotus with masks and social distancing all around; we were able to get together and keep covid at bay! The three crew members fed us, regaled us with stories, showed the children what a wonderful adventure our rivers give us. American South Fork trip was good for the 8 to 15 year olds.

We cannot say enough about how fantastic our trip was with ARTA. From the initial reservation to the last minute of our trip, everyone we interacted with was incredibly helpful. We did a 3 day/2 night trip on the Tuolumne with head guide Xander, Katie P., Jordan, and JP. The guides were absolute rockstars taking care of us and going above and beyond. They scrambled during an unpredictable 4 am thunderstorm to make sure all guests were well situated and as dry as possible and made sure the next morning that we were able to warm ourselves around a cozy fire and hang our wet things to dry. They also made some of the hands down tastiest food I’ve ever eaten during an outdoor adventure. We even had brownies and pineapple upside down cake for dessert with our dinners. The food was 5 stars alone.

In addition to making sure we were well fed and comfortable, the guides were passionate about the river and were always on top of making sure we were as safe as possible. It was great to see their knowledge and love of the river and sharing it with others.

This was a trip of a lifetime. The river was absolutely beautiful and pristine and SO much fun to raft and I’m glad to see that ARTA cares about keeping it so. Our fellow guests were amazing to get to know. We would definitely book again with ARTA. They were fantastic from beginning to end.

Our family had an amazing rafting trip on the Tuolumne river with Arta. My family had never rafted and was understandably nervous. Our guide Zander was amazing. His focus on safety, his experience & knowledge of the river, and calming manner was perfect for first time rafters. He was the perfect guide. The entire group of guides were so professional and passionate. A perfect day on the river and bucket list experience.

What an amazing experience! Our group has done both a single day trip and 2-day trip and each one was great.

While both were fantastic, the 2-day trip was hands down the best option as we were able to camp out along the river, swim in some hidden pools, sleep under the stars and have more time as a group to enjoy our time together.

The guides at ARTA are special. Each one was professional, fun, always positive, and calm under pressure. We were able to do some really radical stuff on the river but always felt safe and in control thanks to our amazing guides. They made a real difference in our experience.

The food and drink was basic yet delicious and everything you need. The guides cooked amazing food and always made sure we were hydrated. They hung out, told stories and made us feel like a part of a big family.

Seriously great adventure on this trip and we left with tons of amazing memories. Thanks ARTA team!

We rafting the Middle Fork of the Salmon in July 2019 and 2022. It is a spectacular river and ARTA does a great job making the trip a memorable experience. The guides are competent, friendly and creative.
We chose ARTA because
1 - They are a non profit. They give back to conservation organizations that work to maintain the pristine rivers we traveled.
2 - ARTA does all the hard work, but we can pitch in here and there and feel like a team.

This was our 4th rafting trip and by far the best. The guides were top-notch, river was challenging and lunch was great. We did the full-day on the Toulumne which is not for the faint of heart or out of shape. The river had lots of class IV rapids. We did 18 miles over about 7 hours. The guides put out a fantastic lunch. We stopped at two spots to jump off some high ledges and got to swim some of the rapids. Overall great day! Thank you Evan, Mike, Alayna, Bridget, Skylar & Alex for a great day! - The Mitchell's

DO NOT USE ARTA IN GROVELAND. We had a 2 day Tuolumne rafting trip booked for months and they called me at 7:30pm 2 days before our departure to Yosemite and 4 days before the rafting trip was to start to cancel. Their excuses, we were the only two booked, they didn't have enough staff and the river was flowing fast. To be fair, with all the snow this winter it has created near record flows for the river but how do you not know you can't staff a trip you've offered for months? They did get me booked on a one day trip with All Outdoors Rafting and their refund process was simple however how do you run a business where you cancel on customers last minute when they know their clients have made air transportation and lodging reservations months in advance? They should have called me much sooner and maybe I could have gotten on another multi day trip but with such last minute notice I had limited options. My advice, use All Outdoors or OARS If you're planning a Tuolomne rafting trip! At least they might warn you ahead of time with problems!

Hi Meddogs. Sorry. We hated to have to cancel your trip. There were a lot of moving pieces that conspired to make it unworkable for us to run the trip for just the two of you. I'm glad you got on the river.

On June 19th, 2014 . Our trip at the Toulumne River with Arta eight hours, level 4 & 5 rapids.. (We rode the bubble, it's what they call it )and what a day it was. We will never forget this trip.. Our guide were Courtney and Bret, they were fun and knowledgable. Lunch provided and it was delicious. If you are thinking of river rafting, definitely consider Arta and the Toulumne River, I know we will.
