Small but intimate - a fabulous addition to the Garzoni gardens and perfect for a bit of respite from the sun (although it does get very warm in the butterfly house)

People have talked about he gardens , which is different to the Butterfly house. The gardens are not to be missed, but sadly the butterfly house does not live up to the gardens.

I decided to take the train from Florence to Collodi to visit the butterfly house and Pinnocchio park. It had been on my "to do" list for several years since I visit Florence often. From the train station in Pescia you can take a taxi or shuttle bus to Collodi. I thoroughly enjoyed my walk around the garden and inside the butterfly house (which also has birds and a few other creatures). It was quite charming and informative. Pinocchio's park was quaint in an old fashioned sort of way - don't expect a Disney experience. The day I was there was not busy at all and it was very peaceful and relaxing to wander around. I'm glad I finally got to check these places off my list!

This is absolutely wonderful place!
Isolated garden with little birds, butterflies and terrariums. You can see different stages of development of living caterpillars, butterflies just lived the cocoon.
Must see.

Not much to say except the butterfly house makes the ticket a little more reasonable. We got the duo ticket to Pinocchio too, which I definitely wouldn't recommend

The ticket cost includes access to the very grand gardens of Villa Garzoni which is beautiful and in which the butterfly house sits so you can easily spend 2-3 hours here looking around.

Very nice place to visit.
The butterflies and the birds are everywhere.
Also, for Instagram-loving folk: This is THE place to get some like-harvesting photos...
The Kids also seemed to enjoy this place quite a bit.

What beautiful gardens these must have been back in time. The terraces, flower beds, water features must have been a site to behold, but now they are unkempt and need of attention. Not a gardener on site on our visit!

It would be interesting to know where the entrance fee is spent (€13 for adults and €11 for children).

We all enjoyed the butterfly house, but even a visit to this and the garden could not stretch longer than 1 1/2.

The gardeners need to cull the bamboo and a number of terraces would benefit from pruning to open up views.

The historical garden is just peaceful celebration of art and flowers. We really enjoyed the walks around (and kids chasing themselves on the stairways). The butterfly house is relaxing and brings little colorful happiness.

A nice place to stroll around and enjoy the gardens, fountains, maze and walking tracks. The butterfly house was great for the kids and also included budgies and zebra finches. The gardens were quite nice and had some animal pens scattered through it. You only need about 2 hours to explore.
