Getting there from Paris was the challenge. The Google instructions were worse than useless; here's what to do (as of June 2015): Take the RER A (regional railroad, accessible from several Paris stations, including Chatelet) to Champigny. Immediately outside the station is a bus stop. Take the 208 a, b, or s. The museum stop, named as such, is half a dozen stops down the road, but the spot is poorly marked so pay close attention. The trip from Chatelet to the museum should take around an hour.

The museum itself is four floors of exhibits, mostly in chronological order. There is a haphazard quality to the exhibit, but it also has fascinating newspaper clippings -- most of them original -- as well as extraordinary artifacts from the resistance and the Occupation. Many survivors of the resistance movements donated their materials to this institution. Everything is in French, so you'll either need a reading knowledge of the language or someone to come along.

That said, for those with a deep interest in World War II, it's a highly worthwhile experience -- especially in combination with the Musee de l'Armee at Invalides and the Musee Jean Moulin near Gare Montparnasse.

This museum is a treasure and valuable preservation of the best and worst of our worldwide human heritage. This goes beyond what one learns in American history textbooks and helps remind people of the dangers of repetition of events even today. In fact, this gives a much better feel for why things happened the way they happened, beyond the general impressions one gets in the U.S. While much of the description and display is, indeed, in French, there is a helpful multi-page guide in English to navigate visitors through the museum, room by room.

The museum is in the process of moving to a larger space so hours are currently limited and some items may be off display as the preparations for the move continue.

This is a very small section of the Army Museum, not well advertised. It took me a map, and a little bit of asking to find it. When I did it was great. The displays are all in French, no translations, but this is the NATIONAL Resistance Museum, for the people of the French Republic. But the artifacts were enough to keep me interested. On the second floor is the section called "Deportation", that was a pretty powerful series of displays... I took no pictures, as I feel that the things covered in that section is something that everyone should see for themselves.

We were glad we made the effort to support this small museum and some of the artifacts were interesting but we should have heeded other tripadvisor feedback - everything is in french and unless your language skills are good and you're prepared to read lots of lengthy written text and newspaper articles then you should probably give this one a miss. It was a shame as we were genuinely interested in the resistance but came away none the wiser.

This seemed to be more of a 2nd World War history rather than a history of the resistance. There were a few interesting exhibits but nothing very specific to do with Paris and the resistance. There was a film but, again, this was a general overview.
