About
A visit to L'Astore Masseria means entering into the family home that has been in the family since 1935, the private home of Professor Achille Benegiamo, he was kind gentleman who shared with passion and devotion his home and his land. Surrounded by about 100 hectares of vineyards and olive groves, in Cutrofiano in the heart of the Italian heel nested equally between Gallipoli and Otranto, we will welcome you to stay in charming rooms which were converted from old stables, we will guide you though the history of oil, visiting our underground mill from the 1700's which is also one of the largest in Salento then into the underground wine cellar, the "wine Cathedral", where you will be intoxicated by the scents of the aging wines. L'Astore masseria, a multi-sensory experience.

This was a good experience, Very good wines, great snacks to accompany them. The tour was very interesting. The tour guides knowledgable.
Wish we could have sent some home, but they couldn't accommodate that for us.

We took a tour and had a lovely wine tasting here. The history of the place is so interesting. Sandra, our tour guide did a great job telling us about the olive oil production and also the wine production. Then we were treated to their wonderful wines. We ended up checking a bag, just so we could bring some home!

Very very nice experience. Beautiful place, very nice staff - the lady who guide us was very nice and professional. The wine are good and not that expencive.
We pay 20 eur per person for tour and degustation and it was definitely worthy. We also bought some wine, I think we took 6 bottles amd we pay about 90 eur.

We stayed here for three days in February 2020, and there are no other way to describe our experience than “woow!”.
What a place and such friendly hosts, and we even got to hang out with the house animals(dogs/cat).
We stayed in junior suite, which had everything we needEd (bathroom, windows, airconditioning and even heated floors).
Our host Claudia came every morning and provided is with the most delicious breakfast(Fresh fruits, coffee/te, juice and even home cooked cake!)
We took the included tour around the masseria, which was very professional and interesting!
We got to try some of the house wines, amazing!
The masseria is like a oasis and totally worth the price!
Would definitely recommend this for anyone visiting the puglia region!

We were on a trip in the South of Italy and were looking for a Masseria into which get to know more about the story of Puglia and the goods linked to it..
After looking a bit we found L'Astore, the road to go there is great, but the place is marvellous, classic italian farm, it seemed like a moment out of time.
Claudia is a wonderful and passionate person that took us through the making of Olive Oil and Wine, the tasting was gorgeous, the products, out of this world!
They can deliver any wine you might wanna buy to your home at a really fair price
Now that I think of it, I need to order them another dozen bottles
Could not recommend this place enough, next time we're going to Puglia, we'll be staying there

L'Astore Masseria produces both organic wine and olive oil. A tour (cost 20 euros) concentrates on the production of olive oil in the 19th century in a huge underground olive press. This lasts about 30 minutes and is very interesting. You then go to the tasting room and taste some of their wines and oil. Our guide, Elisa, was very knowledgeable, and some of the wines were delicious.

Eliza gave us a great tour of the old olive oil press and told us about the history as well as passing through where their wine barrels are kept. We then did the wine and oil tasting which was delicious, the tastings were accompanied by some lovely snacks as well.
We had the added benefit of chatting along with Eliza throughout as she had lived in Sydney for a few years.
Definitely recommend! Came away with 1.5L of oil and two bottles of wine!
To book, email or call Eliza directly 🙂

We visited L’Astore to taste the local wines and see the historic underground oil mill and wine cellar. Elisa Lazzoi was our guide and what a fantastic ambassador for the estate and example of Puglian charm she was. Great wines and oil, we bought a good stock to take home. When we return to the area we will be back! Highly recommend a trip here. Thank you Elisa!

Always a good idea to make a reservation where ever you can. It is not only helpful but you will have a much better experience. And, it shows a level of respect that Italians appreciate .
