- munnkatRochester, United Kingdom43 contributionsdelightful beachSuch a beautiful beach. Excellent for children as it stretches far out without becoming too deep. Soft sand. Plenty of accessible entry points. Plenty of cafes along the routs. Showers at various bars. Clean beach!Visited May 2023Written June 7, 2023

- Sarahrt2Shepton Mallet, United Kingdom320 contributionsFabulous beachAlykes beach is absolutely fantastic, lovely soft sand, beautiful sea which is so shallow, wonderfully calm but with a few welcome waves when the wind picks up. The beach is lined with sunbeds & tavernas, many with waiter service on the beach. Ours were €15 which included a large bottle of water in an ice bucket - we were able to reserve the same ones for each visit, which was absolutely perfect.Visited July 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten July 8, 2023
- Wander11 contributionsBeautiful beach! This is a beautiful beach with amazing clear water so we were able to see little fish swimming around. And with snorkels on you can swim further to see some more creatures but nothing too big just beautiful fish and white sand. There are many sun-beds available along the beach and we found some for €10 which included a lockbox for phones and other important things. We also returned at night twice and watched the sunset, the sun disappears behind a mountain on the island but that doesn’t ruin the beautiful colours of the sky. And even at night the water still stays quite shallow and definitely warm. I really love this beach.Visited July 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 25, 2023
- Samantha BriggsHarrogate, United Kingdom119 contributionsFantastic, but busy.Clean beach with crystal clear sea and shallow for good way out. The only down side is that it was incredibly busy. People were literally sat within arms reach of us on all sides. Plenty of places for food and drinks on the beach. Some have sunbeds to hire with beach service. (I recommend No Name Bar for great food and service) Jet ski's and paddle boats to hire. Cannot wait to return.Visited August 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten August 19, 2023

At the North East of the island of Zakynthos lies the sleepy, resort of Alykes. With probably one of the best sandy beaches in Greece, Alykes beach. Backing onto the beach is the Asterias taverna, established for 50 years and traditionally Greek to its core. On the beach here, are the blue and white umbrellas and sunbeds serviced by the eversmiling, multi- lingual Vladimir. With great disabled access and free carparking, toilets for all a terrace restaurant and bar open all day everyday, Vlad supplies a 'service to sunbed' for his clients, many of whom return year after year just to see him tirelessly patrolling his patch, chatting and providing a first class service to his guests.

Every time I visit Alykes I spend every day on the the lovely beach at the Asteria Taverna.
The reason - the best beach service ever provided be the one and only Vladi.
All Vladi's visitors (long-standing or new) are greeted with a big smile, a great sense of humour and looked after and treated as good friends.
So, to put the icing on the cake of a great holiday in Alykes, go and see Vladi, he never fails to deliver.

Alykes beach is a lovely family friendly beach, with warm, shallow water. Friendly little fish swim in the shallows, there’s hardly any slope so the beach is ideal for small children. Whether you want to make sand castles or snorkel, there’s something here to keep most kids of all ages happy. There’s also a selection of popular beach-front restaurants, some with sun loungers and parasols on the sand, nicely spaced so you don’t feel crowded. For us, the highlight of lazing on this beach, is the sun beds and parasols on Asteria’s beach-front, where you’re served by Vladimir (look for the blue/white parasols). Vlad waits on you all day long. Such a lovely guy, always smiling, telling silly jokes and ensures a day at the beach at Alykes feels like a true chilled out holiday experience. “We’ll be back.”

Such a lovely beach. Really clean, loads of sun loungers. Plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. You can walk out for ages before the water even reaches your waist so it’s great for kids.

The sea is clear and warm and inviting. The sandy beach is well maintained with plenty of boardwalks. Great beach bars offering meals and drinks, Moby Dick was our beach bar of choice. Big shout out to Gary and his Uncle who man the sunbeds are for whom nothing is too much trouble.

We stayed at the beautiful alykes for 2 weeks , everyday we spent on the beach outside the asteria with the man himself the one and only fantastic Vlad. He really does go out of his way to help in anyway possible, the place would not be the same without him.
We also ate at the asteria for lunch regularly and not to be disappointed food excellent and a nice Cole beer to wash it down with

We loved the beach! In September it was half empty, and even no one except us in the evening. We had a great time there coming a few times.
So many cafes and restaurants, choose any spot and enjoy your vacation!
Mostly it’s sandy, the water is clear. I think it’s good for those who travel alone and for families too, because it’s enough space for everyone.

Excellent beach area, clean tidy beach safe for children with restaurants behind and with many offering aservice to your sunbed. Offers fantastic views across the sea to the island of kefalonia. Very safe with good social distance between the sunbathing area during the coronavirus restrictions.

Yes there is a bus from Alykes into Zante. I don't know how much a we didn't use it but I don't think it would be expensive.

on some of the pictures outside of Konstantin hotel the beach looks very pebbly yet everyone is saying how sandy it it, I am confused?

hi Angie. I believe the Konstantin hotel is further up the beach beyond the Astoria and yes, the beach is a bit pebbly there, but walk to the right towards the village and the sand becomes lovely and soft but very hot in the summer. Hope this helps?
