Beautiful area
2019. aug.
The castle is connected to the ALbergo dell'agenzia and the banco di vini, and its beatiful park in Pollenzo right outside of Bra. Calm, almost serene, surrondings. A great place to relax.

Pretty Village
2018. okt. • Romantikus
This is a pretty little village with a lot of greenspace near the university.

Several interesting structures were constructed as part of the revitalization of Pollenzo in the 1830’s and 40’s. They were design in the medieval revival style. One which stands out is La Torre.

There is a ruin of an amphitheater that would have been able to seat 10,000 people. I don’t think there are that many people living within walking distance of this village today.

Beautiful structure and surroundings
2017. ápr.
The Borgo houses a very nice 4 stars hotel, ALBERGO dell'Agenzia, in which we spent a whole week. The whole complex is beautiful, carefully maintained, and apart from the hotel includes also a culinary school and the Banco del Vino, a shop offering a huge selection of wines from all over Italy. Our stay at the Borgo was very enjoyable also for its very convenient location in the center of Piemonte, making it very easy to reach almost any spot in this wonderful province of Italy, in almost no time...

A large historical palazzo in Pollenzo
2016. júl. • Romantikus
This historical site is the home of the slow-food movement in Italy and as well house a lovely 4-star hotel and wine shop. With a couple of good restaurants close by, it's a lovely place for an afternoon stop. The building is not open for tours or to the general public.

Beautiful, also in the evening when lit.

The square is definitely worthwhile to visit. Beautiful buildings incl the university. When the gates are closed in the evening one could take a coffee or wine in the hotel and peak into the inner square of the unversity/hotel building. Enter the hotel via the adjacent street Via Fossano.

A pleasant immersion in the past and present of this region..
2015. jan. • Üzleti
The ancient Roman city of Pollentia (from which the current Pollenzo takes its name) received in the first half of the nineteenth century a new impetus to growth, because the interest of King Carlo Alberto of Savoy (his son, Vittorio Emanuele II, will be then the first king of the newly united Italy). Carlo Alberto in fact renews the medieval castle that was part of the royal estates in this area, to make it the center of a modern farm (the so called "Agenzia").
However, according to the tastes of the time, his architect didn’t restored, but recreated anew the buildings, shaping an example of medieval architecture that has never really existed. They are then a document, much more than of the Middle Ages, of the point of view of the nineteenth century about the Middle Ages. For example the church, but also the dungeon, is significant in this respect.
Today a key part of the building, well restored, is home to the University of Gastronomic Sciences, an original creation that attracts students from all over Italy and abroad, thus contributing to economic and social development of the area.
A quick tour among the buildings of the castle is then a pleasant and instructive immersion in the past and present of this region..
