- M VLondon, United Kingdom24 contributionsBreathtaking viewFantastic spot where you can enjoy breathtaking views over the coast. Standing on a glass platform overlooking one of the tallest cliffs in the world is a very Adrenalin experienced! The ticket costs only €2 pp so definitely worth it!Visited April 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten April 7, 2023
- StrettsAtherstone, United Kingdom315 contributionsJelly LegsI know the platform has been there for many years and thousands of people have stood there, but why do I always feel that my visit will coincide with the day the platform will collapse ?!...well of course it didn't and the view was amazing. Well worth a trip but avoid the crowds by arriving late in the dayVisited April 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten April 17, 2023
- ksufan88Wichita, Kansas5,459 contributionsDramatic view from a high cliffThe skywalk is a short walk from the parking lot, and admission is 2 Euro and can be paid with cash or a credit card from the automated machine. Unfortunately, you must pay 0.50 Euro to use the toilets. 10-15 minutes is all that you need to see the views and return to your vehicle.Visited July 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten July 30, 2023
- Katarzyna KGrantham, United Kingdom152 contributionsnice experienceDramatic view from the cliff top. The glass floor is doing its job and makes you realise that height! Need to pay before entry. Also, very small car park so recommend visiting outside of peak times.Visited August 2023Written August 11, 2023
- MerseysideTinkerbellMerseyside, United Kingdom4,997 contributionsPart of West side mini bus Tour. Very busy with tourists but well worth it.We stopped here as part of a mini bus tour we were doing but it was very busy with other large bus tours and other mini bus tours and people just in cars. There is toilets and cafe and bits of souveneir places but the main part is the glass sky walk which overhangs the cliffs. As say very busy trying to get onto here and some not going on the glass bit (my hubby included) but did go to see the views from there and take photos and took photos of myself on the glass sky walk. Very impressive place and definately worth a visit when in Madeira.Visited September 2022Written August 16, 2023
- Rebecca S8 contributionswhat a viewWhat a view! 2 euros for an adult and children are free. There are toilets, cafe and souvenir shop when you enter. Walking past these you reach the view point, 589 meters up. There is a solid view point you can stand on and enjoy the view and for the more daring you can take 3 small steps down and onto the glass floor where you cab see all the way down the cliff onto the beach and sea below. It was such a great experience and the views out were spectacular. We definitely recommend this place. We stayed for a drink and a bathroom break, both of which facilities are good. All in all we were there around 45 minutes.Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 30, 2023
- Viktorija AVilnius, Lithuania21 contributionsOne of the best viewpoints in MadeiraThe entrance costs 2€/person, there’s free parking, got lucky to come (~13pm) after dozens of tourists groups went back to their buses, so we didn’t run into them neither at the viewpoint, neither driving to the top of the mountain, because the road was a bit scary. The view is worth a visit. The glass floor makes it more special (and of course adds more fear). It’s said that sometimes you can see the whales or dolphins in a distance, but we didn’t get a chance to see any. There were a lot of butterflies, birds flying above our heads. Also, ran into very friendly and cute black dog! Plus, there are many souvenir shops (good prices, we found many interesting things, for example: stones; so, we had quite a shopping with Madeira wine, poncha’s and e.c. Nice that we got a discount from the seller. We liked this place.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 4, 2023
- RoverPInverness, United Kingdom710 contributionsWorth a short visit. It's a great spot if it isn't too crowded. Good views back towards Funchal. This is about the height of the cliff rather than the view. Also, take note of how close to the cliff edge some of the land is cultivated.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 10, 2023
- Lynette0708Shanghai, China1,227 contributionsStunning viewAlthough not many things to do, it worths 2 EUR to give a check. No need to say how spectacular the ocean looks, it’s sometimes bit crowded but still, good to spend some time there. Return Bolt could wait quite long, better to call a Bolt on app in advance.Visited December 2023Traveled with friendsWritten December 26, 2023
- jessica r6 contributionsGreat glass floor experienceLovely view, scary glass floor. All nice and clean and safe..you can't begrudge them the 2 euro entry..toilets, cafe and gift shop before you walk in. Can also do levada walks etc from here...the village below is lovely too to look around.Visited February 2024Traveled with familyWritten February 24, 2024

Its obviously a tourist trap, you are not really above the water, the cliff is not vertical. Its more like a balcony with view of the sea. Nothing extra special. We were here in november and the entry was free (it was crowded tough). If they ask money for this in season, feel free to skip this attraction and better drive to the mountains and you will get much more satisfying views

Great views of the coast and Funchal. I visited at a quiet time but, from the parking for coaches and the turnstiles, it can get very crowded. Views possible without 'walking on glass' but that is the point of the attraction. A change for some vertigo therapy!
Lots of parking (unless busy). Pleasant surroundings. Cafe & tourist shops. Bus 154.

Really worth a visit. We caught the no 7 bus (less than 3 Euros) from Funchal…no need to pay through the nose for a tourist bus experience! Really interesting journey as you snake up the mountain coming head on to other buses and trucks on narrow roads…great fun. Took about 45 minutes and once there you can wander round and then down to the glass and grid walkways which are really something. I’m not great with heights but still managed it! Amazing views all
Around and obviously through the floor to the beach almost 600 metres below. Yes it was busy but it is free and you can still get some good photos. After being the typical tourist you can stroll over to the gift shop and cafe and have a coffee and delicious vegan lemon cake…yum!
Then just catch the No 7 back into town after an hour…it’s well worth a couple of hours of your day!

Lots of people, floor is no longer fully transparent because the glass hasn't been changed recently - therefore not so scary. There is a metal support construction right under the glass as well, which obstructs the view.
But the view is amazing! Soooo high and so much space, wind on your face, really amazing experience.

Very impressive glass-floored viewing platform, arguably the highest in Europe (the Norwegians dispute this) with great views generally. It’s fascinating watching people’s reactions as they first step onto the platform. Easy parking and there’s now a cafe, shop and toilets here too. A must-see on Madeira.

Cabo Girao is a famous viewpoint on the second highest sea cliff in the world, and the highest in Europe. There is a suspended glass platform offering views of Funchal and ocean, and a second platform with a floor.
I was very underwhelmed by our whole experience. However, I can't really complain as entrance to the viewing platform is free, we just weren't all that impressed by the views. And the crowds of people detracts from the glass floor thrill factor, which you can actually barely see through (see photos) or else it's looking through a thick metal grid. The early morning views are nice enough and it is only a very short easy walk from the carpark, along good paths, so fine for a pram etc.
There is apparently a cable car to travel down to the bottom of the cliffs and see the black rock beaches. The ride is just 3 minutes, with views towards the East. Located 4kms away from the Skywalk, with a separate small carpark. I read that the cost is €5 each but we did not have time to experience this for ourselves.
Located on the south coast, a short drive from Funchal. The skywalk is free to enter and there are public toilets (take change). Open from 8.30am to 8pm. Spend upto half an hour to look at the views. We visited as part of a very busy action-packed touristy day to Porto Moniz natural swimming pools, Seixel, etc

We took a Bolt from our hotel in Camara de Lobos, cost about €10.
The glass viewing point is very high and the views are good. It wasn’t very crowded there even though we went about midday on a Sunday. We had lunch at the cafe there and it wasn’t very good. I would recommend to just stick to drinks and cake.

Busy on a cloudy and coldish day in May, so can only imagine what this is like in August. I would estimate that the glass bit is no wider than 8-10 metres wide. Fantastic views across Funchal, and the drop below the glass is great, but doesn't photograph that well as you get the relection of the glass. Worth the effort to get here, but you only need 10 mins - in fact no one would be able ro take photos if we all lingered. Don't forget your 50c if you need the loo. Has a cafe and shop

Cabo Girao is an interesting place to visit with great views over Madeira and the Atlantic ocean. The glass floor feels safe enough although it would benefit from some cleaning. We visited the place just after sunset and it wasn't very crowded, although it's better to arrive a bit earlier for better lighting.

Dat is best te doen...het platform bevindt zich op 100m van waar je je auto parkeert.Het zijn hoogstens enkele trapjes om er te geraken.Doe het rustig aan en de beloning voor je mama zal nog zo mooi zijn!

There is a service bus that goes there but infrequent. You can also take a bus to Miradour and walk about 10 mins to the viewpoint. Hilly. There is also the little green train from Camera Do Lobos to the viewpoint. Takes you up and back and waits 15 minutes for you at the top. 9 euros return.
