Had an amazing time with Claude, Celine and Jescs. Their attention to detail and care was second to none. Catered for my specific needs (only one arm) without request and without overdoing it. All 3 spoke excellent English and were inclusive and translated other conversations so I was at no time left out.
Great sites were chosen and nothing was repetitive. Highly recommended

If you've travelled an the way to El Hierro, it's worth the extra effort to visit this monument simply ask you can say you've been to what was, pre Columbus, the Western extremity of the known world ... And hence the zero point for maps at that time.

It's also a beautifully wild and rugged area. You can't really get there without a 4x4. At least you shouldn't and I wouldn't risk it. The map suggests the road ends for normal cars at the end of the tarmac (about an hours walk from the monument) although actually it's only at the junction where the road splits to head to the pier that the signs actually prohibit 4x4s. Having said that we saw at least one normal car driven right down and certainly I'd have felt OK driving the bit to the junction.

Having said that's an option we were pleased we left the car at the end of the tarmac and walked the end of the island long path as there was so much to see en route (and we needed the exercise!)

The lava formations are amazing and we found a lava tunnel about 30ft long with shells and bones in it. We assume recent - within the last century- but undoubtedly used in much earlier times but the locals many of whom used to lived in the area apparently.

Finally the timings. With distractions it took us about 30 mins from tarmac to junction and then about the same again to the monument. Climbing back without distractions took us about the same time.

Wonderful 3 days diving with Celine and Claude in El Hierro!

very good quality aqualung gear available for rental , great knowledge of wildlife and local dive sites. Celine Claude and Jesus were very friendly - accommodating french, English and Spanish speaking guests. Also sorted us out with a Lovely apartment in la Restinga at very short notice, sorted us taxis (note - rent a car in el hierro as there are only about three taxi drivers!!) and gave us great restaurant recommendations.

diving was good - could only do dives to the west of la Restinga due to high winds in aug / July , but this included El Bajon (the underwater mountain) which was amazing , as well as many dives on the marine reserves . We also did a night dive in the port

Overall did 7 dives and saw lots - puffer fish , octopus , grouper , moray eel, slipper lobster , parrot fish , trigger fish , trumpet fish , shrimp . No rays or sharks unfortunately but we went in July - apparently these are more likely a bit later in the year

Claude is also a professional photographer so youā€™ll likely get some great pictures of you from their Facebook page !!

Diving El Bajon with Patric was a stunning experience I will never forget, an unbelievable amount of life and the perfect dive buddy. Probably the best dive in Europe.....

Patric and Murielle were both friendly and very competent, I am an instructor, I saw them with novice divers and they were great with them. They had a great manner with all levels of diver. Their equipment was all well maintained and cared for, I could not fault the dive center or the diving its self.

as I started diving last February, I did not suspect how marvelous live can be underwater and at la Restinga I touched Paradise not far from home. Having the need of a big break on my stressing live, El Hierro was the perfect choice. Sun, See, and a preserved/protected nature combined with a high level live quality thanks to fantastic guy's: Patrick and Murielle did a great Job doing their best organizing accommodation and managing the 5 stars diving sessions. It wasn't easy to teach the awkward girl I'am, but you did it and thanks to your patience experience and professionalism, I was allowed to observe all the biosphere treasures. Not only under water but also on earth and out of your working hours you spent time sharing smiles lough and joy with us.
We will sure come again. especially to train the dive marker :)

We spent 3 days diving here as a group of 8. Certification experience within our group from Padi advanced to master scuba Diver trainer. Fantastic service and very well equipped dive centre, great kit cleaning facilities and drying area, and a brand new ribb.
Patrick, our dive master was great and showed us all the amazing sea life and topography of the area. An unforgettable experience and we will be back soon.

I picked up 2 French hitch hikers who directed me to Meridiano Cero, and it was the best advise!

I had never scuba dived before, but they offer a Discover Scuba course. Which is 1x coffin dive and 1x open water dive in one day. While English isn't their first language (French is), Murielle and Patrick did a fantastic job at explaining everything and guiding us through so we felt very safe and supported. They suggested they probably couldn't do a Open Water Padi course in English, but for the discover scuba, it was perfect.

We had so much fun together, Patrick and Murielle are friendly, happy and very caring. We went out with an instructor each, they explained us techniques and how to use all the apparatuses, and at all times they had their eyes on us.

I believe they can also provide accommodation, which i'll definitely look into next time i'm there for a few more dives!

Thanks you two!

Very beautiful place, it is just a symbol but full of beauty and meaning. The road is not so nice but the landscape compensate everything. I think El Hierro is one of the most beautiful islands in the world.

Hi This is probably about the Meridiano Cero monument that you're talking about but not about our diving center. Thank you anyway for your comment, and yes, El Hierro is the nicest island of the Canarys!
