About
Enjoy the hike upstream through lush vegetation to Reach Falls, where you can cool off in the crystal-clear pool at the waterfall’s base and explore the caves behind the cascades. There are restrooms and changing facilities, but no restaurants—grab lunch from one of the nearby villages. You can book a day tour that makes the whole experience a breeze. However, if you’re making your own way to the falls, you’ll have to decide between the official entrance or getting an unofficial guide. Going the local route offers a quieter and less crowded experience, but you won’t be able to access the tallest waterfall and main pool. – Tripadvisor

- Jess Hazell4 contributionsTour to Reach Falls with DorianWe loved our experience at Reach Falls. We had a local guide, Dorian, who took us through the smaller pools up towards the falls. He was friendly, knowledgeable and made the experience so much richer than if we’d just seen the main falls. 100% one of the best things we’ve done. Such surreal beauty. Can highly recommend Dorian and he charges such a reasonable rate!Visited July 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten July 2, 2023

It’s in the hills and was a bit of a drive from Kingston but it was worth it. Clean and beautiful water. For locals, it was $500 and $10 I think for non residents. They sold water shoes which was a plus. I wish they had a wash off/ shower area but otherwise, great grounds!Visited September 2023Traveled with friendsWritten September 14, 2023
- EllaSydney, Australia34 contributionsHighly recommend!Absolutely gorgeous. We walked quite a way up with our guide, strongly recommend water shoes if you’re sensitive about stepping on rocks. On our drive in, a few people stopped our car to try get us to go with them to the “locals” pools rather than the “government” pools: saying there are 8 local pools and only one government pool. We went the official route as we were not sure about the locals, and the pools were spectacular and plenty to see - we don’t feel like we missed out.Visited December 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten December 21, 2023
- Michael GGlasgow, United Kingdom4 contributionsUnforgettable Adventure with Dorian at Reach Falls! My experience at Reach Falls with Dorian was nothing short of amazing! We were fortunate to meet him on our way and decided to take the non-touristy route up from the bottom of the falls. Dorian’s local expertise added a unique touch to our journey, making it more than just a typical tourist visit. The unconventional route involved walking through pools and swimming upstream, providing a refreshing and immersive experience. The ease of the trek made it accessible for all, and the scenic beauty along the way was breathtaking. Dorian’s knowledge of the area enriched our exploration, sharing insights that we wouldn’t have discovered on our own.Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten January 14, 2024
- TraveldadLondon140 contributionsBeautiful climb up the local routeAs you approach Reach falls there are a lot of local guides. We decided to use a well mannered guide called Dorian. They charge the same as the official entry fee with the proceeds going to the community. We had a wonderful hour climbing up through numerous pools and small falls with Dorian showing us exactly where to step while taking photos of us and pointing out interesting things. A great trip. The communal pool at the base of the falls is well worth it, but the guided hike up the falls to swim in a series of crystal clear pools is otherworldly. As is the "rabbit hole" cave you can swim through. Highly recommended and totally reasonable entrance fee

We used a private guide and I don’t know if we could have done it with out them. It had rained before we went and the rocks were slippery so we fell quite a bit. The Rabbit Hole didn’t have water cascading down from all sides. Thus you can see the bottom and where you’ll be jumping. I thought it took away from the mystique. The cave was cool and having the option to have to swim underneath to get out was nice. We’ve been to the Blue Hole (Ochos Rios), Dunn Rivers Falls, & Mayfield Falls preciously. Reach was the most strenuous but also the most fun in our opinion. This was the first time I’ve seen a waterfall you could jump off of. I’ve seen the guides jump off a waterfall at the Blue Hole but it was not something I could of done (they can jump further than most). Blue Hole is the only place that comes close to Reach Falls. The Blue Hole does have multiple rope swings while Reach doesn’t. The Blue Hole and Dunn Rivers are very popular and thus more crowded, if that matters to you. At Dunn Rivers you have to hold hands with strangers as you go up the falls. There are subtle differences between them. The price is about the same at most of them.

OMG, this place exceeded my expectations. The journey there was fun, the road isn't has damaged as most roads I am use to with excursions. Then on arrival it just takes your breath away. The water is amazing......... make you just want to stay in there all day. I say, plan to spend the day there, get lunch there (I can't comment of the food, I didn't purchase anything) or just bring your own, have a picnic because the environment is welcoming and amazing. Nice place to hang out with the entire family or just as a couple or single. It will still just be amazing. The entry fee is fair and they have parking space. Go relax and enjoy this beauty.

The falls were pretty and it was a good swimming spot.
Reach Falls is a dedicated park, don’t fall for the “guides” come ons outside of the park. They will take you through pools down stream of the park to get you to a view of the falls from distance. We drove into the park, paid our fee and enjoyed the falls up close.
During low water levels the life guards will take you up river to the rabbit holes where you can shoot trough worm holes in the rocks. Our guide/life guard smelled of rum and weed so we opted out of that experience and just enjoyed the view.
