Excellent place to enjoy the countryside
Beautiful coastline, lady in the cabin serving food and drinks was wonderful along with the chef, although food was alot of money it was well worth it! Pulled pork burger was amazing! Rock pools were fab when tide is right out, fossils everywhere but not allowed to open stones etc or take anything with you home (we took a hammer to open stones but wasn't allowed to used these the sign said). Would definitely come back with dogs if we came back on holiday.

    Loved it
I had never heard of Kimmeridge so had to look it up when a friend recommended it. I can only say it’s an absolute hidden gem. If you like natural coastline and rock pools this is the place to go. This is the place to go to experience total mindfulness and let all your worries wash away. The geological features are amazing and the wash of the sea is totally relaxing. We may not have heard of Kimmeridge before but we have now and will definitely be coming back

Fantastic fossil beach - kids love coming here
Really lovely place to see fossils. When the tide goes out, the large flat rocks are covered in Ammonites so you are guaranteed to see some even if you don’t find any yourself. If the tide is in, climb up to Clavell Tower (140ish steps) and watch the surfers. Visit the Wild Waters Center and play on the beach until the tide is out enough to see the fossils. Nice and clean (though lots of flies). Toilets at the slipway carpark. £6 to park, but worth it for a good few hours on the stony beach. You can swim but it’s more a fossil and stone beach not a sunbathing and swimming beach (unless you are a surfer).

Nice bay view of the sea
Never been before so went for a look. Wasn’t sure what it would be like. You get to the bay through lovely scenery and a country lane for a few miles. There’s a hit part why down where you pay £6 to go there and park. We only want to sit and picnic for an hour or so, so we were hoping it would be worth it. The view was amazing but we didn’t like the look of the beach, plus you need to get down to it. We set up our chairs on the top of the cliff and enjoyed our picnic.

    Snorkel trail
We came here predominantly for the snorkel trail. A pebbly, shale bay with lots of rocks & large pebbles. Bring sensible shoes with some grip, saw lots of people falling over and the rocks are quite slippery. It cost £6 to park card only. Plenty of parking. A walk down some steps to get to the bay or you can sit on the grass overlooking the bay. We did both. My partner did the snorkel trail which he loved and we walked up to Clavell Tower. We ate at the cafe at the top, expensive but delicious seafood and lovely clean toilets. The bay is great for sitting & reading, I took a chair with me it would have been uncomfortable sitting on the rocks. I had no phone signal down in the bay but on the top I did. Lovely place to spend an afternoon. A little hidden gem.

A lovely way to spend a few hours. Dogs loved the run.
A lovely walk with my husband and the dogs, enjoyed the view and checking out the geology in the area. The road to the parking area is single track with bays, so it was nice going whilst it was less busy. The parking was £6 for the full day. Although we only stayed an hour or so, we could have easily taken a packed lunch and enjoyed the view. Be careful with the rocks as they can be slippy and obviously keep an eye on tide times too.

Such a gorgeous spot! Make sure you visit at low tide by checking out the tide tables then you can enjoy seeing all the rock pools and fossils. Parking is available at £5 a day and it’s open til early evening. Walk up and have a look at the view from the tower above the bay, or enjoy an ice cream or snack from the takeaway vans on the cliff. There are also toilets available at the end of the bay. A perfect spot for families or walkers to explore the Jurassic coast!

Mid-week, off season, freezing cold, gales, pouring rain, gone 3pm. And still the woman was in the cabin, trying to get 6 quid for the privilege of stopping here for 5 seconds to take a photo. Ideal spot for a three point turn in the road. Not worth the miles of drive down a narrow road to get to. Must be a total nightmare over summer. Plenty of better places to visit along this coastline.

Great for fossil hunting, rock pooling and snorkelling. Plenty of people kayaking and paddleboarding. Lovely clear water. Stony beach so beach pumps needed. Steep and tricky walk down from the cliff but only takes a few minutes. Parking £5 all day and cards accepted. Not much beach at high tide but tide goes out quite a long way. Unstable cliffs and frequent rock falls - signs warning of this (and it’s obvious anyway) but still plenty of people apparently ignorant of the dangers. Keep away from the cliff face! And you shouldn’t be gouging fossils out of the cliff either!

So so confused. Everyone highly recommended this place.. £6 out of season to park in a farm field knowing nobody will spend more than 30mins here this time of year (nov). Just no. I can understand peak summer season but it was literally a field, no toilets, food van.

Honestly flabbergasted at the cost for what it is.. RIP OFF! Get yourself to lulworth cove pay £6, get parking at Durdle door too.. SO SO SO much nicer.

I’m from London, so being used to the expensive charges but this wasn’t justified.

Beautiful bay with fantastic rock pools and a beautiful clear sea! Easy to park, pay as you drive through the track, £6 for the day. There was a van to get drinks and snacks at the top of the cliff and a pop up restaurant (which we didn't visit) by the carpark.
Keep in mind that this is a stony beach with boulders and is hard to walk around but if you have the time and means, walk around the bay towards the far side you'll be repaid with great rock pools and space to sit down. Stay away from the cliffs as rock falls are common. Also, keep your eyes peeled for fossils!

Family and I have been going for years since I was kid. Infact many generations have loved and enjoyed kimmeridge. Rock pools fossils diving swimming snorkeling paddle boarding kayaking picnic and simply enjoying the stunning views. People complaining about £5. Really?. All day fun for the whole family. Get there at say 11am leave at 3pm. We usually suck every bit of the day we can stay until 6pm. So work it out for yourself. I think my family is worth a day out for 5 quid. New Mexican bar down there now. Check it out at the weekends. So anything negative, never. If you want sand and ice cream it’s not for you.

Fantastic beach to explore, climb over rocks and look for fossils. We saw some huge ammonites in large rocks. The cliffs are beautiful, but keep well back as rockfalls are happening more or less all of the time. Wear strong boots for the stony beach. Best to visit the Etches Museum first to understand what you're looking at.

Really enjoyed our visit to Kimmeridge Bay. It was very quiet and peaceful. It was fascinating to see huge fossils in the rocks on the beach. It was also very easy and quick to walk to from the car park. If you are planning on going to a beach for the whole day with young children - to relax, swim, eat and sunbathe, then this probably isn’t the beach for you. But we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
