As a pub, the Ragged is (in my opinion) one of the best places to have a drink in Tunbridge Wells. Ralaxed and unpretentious, in a great location, and the perfect size - would recommend to all

Popped in here whilst visiting the area for a drink and a meal. Unfortunately they weren't serving meals in the evening for some reason so we just stayed for a couple of drinks but found the atmosphere very friendly and welcoming. It has a certain rustic charm and I'm sure late in the evenings it can get quite noisy as they seemed to attract a younger element and probably not the over 60's like ourselves.

Love the pantiles, and having lived in tunbridge wells as a teenager with my parents , have many happy memories from years ago , most of my old haunts are no longer there , but plenty of new ones have opened , and wanted to try one of the independents rather than the usual chains like Carluccios , although next time may go for “ the ivy’ in the high street . Sat on a table outside , as although very cold , sunny and couldn’t resist ... ordered a haloumi burger which was quite delicious with some of the best chips I’ve had in a long time , chilled and light a glass of French rose wine ... can certainly recommend , sweet and attentive service ... only comment would be that although due to the very cold temp outside , not tempted to sit inside as decor a bit rough and ready , and a smell

Full of 2009 Camden posers. Staff are clearly failed New media execs and/or graphic artists and are very grumpy daddies money and influence didn't help them in life. They don't like social groups or occasions and would probably prefer the pub to be a dark moody room where they are by themselves crying into a flannel.

Terribly rude student barman. No-one in the pub and he seemed to have a problem about the noise of 6 people talking.Plenry of better pubs in TW to visit. Try them and not this place.

My daughters and I were having a great day until we went to the Ragged Trousers for lunch. However on trying to order food whilst seated outside, the barman was insistent he would have to take my bank card and keeping it on display for all to see, scan or just take! In case we disappeared without paying! We didn't stay, we had a lovely meal at a hotel a few doors along who didn't hold you bank card for ransom. Needless to say we will not be returning!

There are loads of decent and half decent pubs in Tunbridge Wells. Unfortunately this place isn't one of them.
Too many tables and if you stand at the bar you just getting knocked by customers so far up their own backsides to use the word excuse me.
Bar staff are probably the most ignorant you will find in this part of the town.
If you want a decent beer stagger the short way to the Sussex or Duke
Does have nice toilets right enough

A decent location and range of drinks if you can get served. Nice sitting outside. Inside is cramped and needs a spruce up.
