What a shame that on the 750th anniversary of the Battle of Evesham the only remaining part of the Abbey the Bell tower is covered in scaffolding the remains of a cloister arch can be seen and the flower beds look stunning with two churches in close proximity the Abbey must have been a very important one in mediaeval England

The remains and outline of Evesham Abbey, knocked down by Henry the 8th, give an insight into what a wonderful and majestic building this once was. The Bell Tower still remains intact and is a splendid example from the 14th Century. Standing in the Abbey Park grounds near the river and with nice walks along the river front, this is a nice way to spend a pleasant day out.

All that remains is the Bell Tower and the gateway. The abbey chapel is gone, but outlined with stones. It had two abbey churches and both were handed over to the local town for use as parish churches and remain in use today – All Saints and St Lawrence. Take some time in the old village also. The Battle of Evesham was fought here in 1265, and is where Simon de Monfort was defeated.

This bell tower is the only surviving part if what was Evesham Abbey. The tower was built in the 16th century. The. Abbey was destroyed during the dissolution of the monasteries

This is well worth a look. You can walk along the river, in the park, and have a good look around. there are a few things to see like the Evesham Bell Tower, the old Abbey, and the nice flowers in the grounds.

This bell tower is part of the old abbey and has beautiful flower beds in front of it leading down to the park and river. There is an old arch also belonging to the abbey nearby.

Walked around this beautiful historical Evesham Bell Tower on Saturday 25/08/18, a small amount of info on entering about the Tower, also beautifully maintained garden area & park opposite. Beautiful sound when the Tower Clock Chimes.
The Tower is only a few minutes away by foot to the local Evesham shops.
