We visited Edinburgh for a weekend away but there were limited things to do with road closures and events cancelled following the queen's death. We were looking for something to do and come across this place. It was such a pleasant surprise. It was very informative and fun! Plus lots of chocolate to eat. As someone with a dairy allergy, they were exceptionally knowledgeable and accommodating. I didn't feel like I missed out on any part of the experience and there were dark chocolate and dairy free milk chocolates available! I would definitely recommend to anyone in the city with a spare couple of hours.

A fantastic way for all ages to spend a couple of hours in Edinburgh. 😁🍫 Couples, families - all chocolate lovers!!
Really informative and a great way to learn about how chocolate is sustainably sourced and how it is made in a fun and practical way. Rebecca was a great host.
Making the chocolate was just amazing and tasting lots of different flavours was superb
Highly recommended! We loved it and left with our bespoke bars feeling proud of our chocolate making efforts!

A must do if you’re looking for a fun activity in Edinburgh. We got an educational tour with some basic info on how chocolate is sourced, made, with plenty of opportunities to try chocolate from all over the world.
The woman giving the tour was really great, enthusiastic and delivered everything well.
Amazing for children, as the tour guide allowed for lots of questions and participation, and didn’t speak for too long before going to the chocolate tasting and interactive parts, and it won’t be too long for them. All the kids that were part of the tour seemed to be having a great time.
Also would be a great one for couples, familes, the girls on a Bachelorette holiday. Plus it’s not too long so there’s plenty of opportunity to do all the other wonderful stuff in edinburgh

This was really fun, educational and most importantly delicious activity for our 1 week Edinburgh trip, something a bit different. Our tour guide made the atmosphere really fun and relaxed with her sunshine attitude and personality, and the well used props showed the chocolate making practices really well and fun for all ages. So many chocolate varieties to taste and got our own made chocolates to go. All in all deliciously wonderful spot to visit, highly recommend! ♥️

This looked like good tour but was very disappointed by no show of tour guide no explanation no apology and no correct contact number. We travelled 3 hours for a birthday treat and was severely let down. 😡😡

My family booked The Chocolate Tasting Tour for 24 December in August. We have looked forward to this for half a year, and the guide did not turn up. No SMS, no e-mail, no nothing from the guide nor the getyourguide tour operator. Defining forgettable. Morten C Arendrup

I bought tickets for this tour as a gift for 2 friends and I. Starting from Feb 2016 I booked onto the tour on 5 separate occasions over a period of 6 months. Every time, I received an email to say the tour had been cancelled due to low numbers, usually a day or 2 before the tour was supposed to take place. After the 4th cancellation, I even contacted 'Best Tours' to ask the best time of year to book so that the tour is actually likely to go ahead...I got a completely unhelpful, genetic reply. It was not possible to get through to anyone by phone. After the 5th cancellation, I gave up and requested a refund. The tour might be good but when it's that difficult to actually go on it, what's the point?! All in all, a very disappointing and frustrating experience...I certainly would not recommend.

Can't think of the life of me why people are being positive about this tour.At the very start we were split into two groups obviously overbooked.looks like we got the less interesting guide of the two.Walking literally miles up and down hills for 1 poxy chocolate per shop.Tour guide hardly said anything interesting apart from history of Hotel chocolate. The shop keepers were not very informative just wanted sales. The last shop was Lickety split the shop keeper was very informative about the old sweets. To be honest I was releaved the tour ended as I was extremely bored.£30 for this tour they should be paying people to do it as there getting people into there shops. £30 to walk miles for a few poxy chocolates and hardly any information wouldn't do it again if they paid me.The other tour guide seemed better there group finished a good half hour behind our group might of been better with the other guide but not much better.

I 100% agree with the other people who have wrote Bad reviews of this tour and wish I had read the reviews before I had paid for it as a treat for my girlfriend. The tour starts in the street in front of Patisserie Valerie which from the outside has some amazing cakes and sweets etc., but we were told shop was too busy and couldn't go in, so were given one chocolate standing in the street and then went on our long walk to the other venues. On visiting Hotel Chocolate and Coco Chocolate we were invited to taste the free sample chocolates that are also available for all members of the public to sample, there no additional samples for being on tour. At Bibis we were given a taste of a chocolate brownie then moved on, we never visited Harvey Nichols, no reason given on the tour. when in the shops we were made to feel that the tour was a hindrance and burden to shop assistants, who were busy dealing with other customers and had no time for anybody on the tour and we were made to feel that we were taking up space in there shops. When we visited the Fudge kitchen all the fudge making in shop had finished for the day, so nothing to see there either, although we were asked to try any sample of fudges but again this is an offer to anybody who visits the shop, The last stop was Lickety Splits which very interesting and assistants had very good interaction with the group but was more of a step back in time lesson on the history of sweets which I recommend anybody to visit this shop to see hear taste and buy the favorite sweets you had as a kid. But On the whole the tour was very disappointing, a waste of money and our time with very little historical information regarding chocolate, it was also a very very long walk around Edinburgh's Slopes over 2 1/2 hours with hardly any stops luckily the weather was fair, I was embarrassed that it was a treat for my girlfriend which failed miserably with very little sample of free chocolate to taste, I feel that if I had visited these shops on our own we would have received better attention from the assistants and received the same or more free samples, I recommend that you save your money for this tour which is £30 per person and visit these shops at your leisure and save your money and the £30 per person that you save could buy you a lot of the lovely chocolate that you will see in these shops.
