    Great time
Our experience at Clue HQ was such a lovely one. We were greeted by a lovely and friendly host. Shown a video of exactly what to expect in terms of locks, puzzles, things we shouldn’t touch etc. The room itself it a lovely design with lots of detail, really feels like an immersive experience. Only improvements: There are a lot of locks! Like, everything needs unlocking with a lock. Maybe some variation would have been nice, as it was so very warm in the room and we were struggling to open the locks after some time. Also we struggled with the general knowledge riddles. There was no indication of the answer in the room, so if you didn’t know the answer, you’d have to wait around for clues to be drip fed. But other than that, a great room and we will be coming back for another 🤗

    Great escape room
We took our 9 & 7 year olds to completely this Escape Room as family because it was my husbands birthday and the kids had heard us talk about them so much, that they wanted to join in. Was it a mistake….yes, they were more of a hinderance, but they enjoyed it and we knew our chances of getting out successfully were slim. It’s a really challenging room and is usually completed by 6 adults, but I would highly recommend it. Even families with older kids would be able to do this one. The staff were great, the clues were helpful and I’m very tempted to go back and try again. It’s a great location too and with a full bar available and other activities in the same building, you could spend a few hours having fun as a group.

    Great experience lots of fun!
Had the best time at Clue HQ Swindon. We had gone previously and had a slight issue with the room, which I informed the manager on. Jamie the manager was incredible with sorting it out making our experience 10/10 and very grateful for how he handled the situation and what he gave us to ensure we had the best experience the next time. Alex our games host was brilliant, making us laugh throughout the whole room and giving us the best experience whilst giving some great hints when needed. 100% recommend and will be going back.

    Great family fun
Been twice in past month as family of 4- youngest being 10 years old. Both rooms were great and we all had a fab time. No issues with staff but I would say Callum, the host, on our second visit was more personable and helpful. Would definitely recommend. Gave 4/5 as would be useful to have difficulty rating for each room prior to booking.

    Great venue and staff
We’ve been here a couple of times now and always do the 3 activities with children and adults. It is a great price for 3 activities. We love escape rooms and managed to succeed this time (with a little help) and I’m so pleased we did as it was for two 10 years olds birthday and they were chuffed to bits. The Lazer tag was also really enjoyed. The Crazy golf chased the usual arguments and we had to stop the kids from forcing the people in front of us from to hurry up (I’ve yet to go to an empty crazy golf course) but overall they thoroughly enjoyed it all. The arcade and pool tables kept the younger boys entertained whilst they waited for their brothers and dads to finish the escape room. We got our drinks and snacks at the bar and the staff were polite and attentive as always. My only criticism about the whole place is the toilets need a major refurb! I would highly recommend this for a family day out, birthday party or treat during the bad weather.

    Great team building exercise
I went to clue HQ with work colleagues on a team build. We did bunker 38 and we all really enjoyed it, really gets the mind working and you have to work together to solve it. You have to think outside the box and when we did get stuck some helpful clues came through. Callum - the host was great and even gave us some extra time as we were so close to escaping - which we did! Highly recommend.

We had a very fun hour in bunker38! Great room and the puzzles were lots of fun to solve. If I was rating just the hour in the room then it would get 5 stars as we did enjoy it!
However, I’m only give this 3 stars due to cost and location, it’s very expensive (£60 for an hour) even with the groupon voucher it works out at £54 for a weekend booking so not a great saving. I suppose if you have the full 6 people then it’s better value for money, but there were only 3 of us so not cheap. Having said that the room felt tight with just 3 so I think fitting 6 in would be an issue for this particular room.
The location is not great, it’s in a laser tag / soft play so when you are watching the video at the start it is hard to hear over the screaming kids!
We would go back for another room if it came up on groupon but it seems that only bunker38 is on the offer.

The staff were friendly and welcoming and helped where they could without trying to give too much away. This was our first escape room and decided on the cluetankahamun, However some of the puzzles were completely unclear even when they were explained. Even after they were explained sometimes it’s complete guess work. You’d have to try different combinations because the puzzles are set up wrong. For example the puzzle would lead you to the wrong number. This is mistake with the puzzle, which was pointed out to the staff who checked and agreed it needed changing.

The second point that was made is that the room we tried isn’t really suitable for 2 people because of the sheer amount of clues and puzzles you have to do between you. I made the point to a staff member that this should have been recommended before entry, in response they told me that the company don’t make this known because it would put off potential customers.

So I highly recommend only doing this in groups of 4-6

At £25 per person in a team of two it felt like a rip off. It was like they set it up for you to waste too much time on puzzles that aren’t even correctly set up.

It could have been enjoyable if it was more thought out and correctly put together.

We just played Cluetankhamun and were not really too impressed.

The staff didn’t seem interested and there is just no atmosphere. We have done 20-25 escape rooms and this one was pretty average at best.

One of the torches we were given did not work. No big issue but maybe check these before throwing them back into the bag for the next team.

The main issue for us was that we felt really rushed to complete the room and go home.
We booked the 8.30pm slot, we completed the room in 40 minutes and the main front doors were locked when we tried to leave.

But the reason for finishing in 40 minutes was because the host just kept displaying clues on the screen before we had barely had a chance to try and solve the puzzle.

At one point we even said to him “come on mate give us a chance to try the puzzles first before telling us the answer!”

The second to last clue was ridiculous, we literally found both halves of the prop needed and before we even got the props together they had displayed a clue telling us what to do.

It just seemed like they were waiting to go home for the night and wanted us out as soon as possible.

We did pass this feedback to the host afterwards and advised him to give people time to think and try puzzles for a few minutes first. He just said “well it’s our hardest room and most people need clues”
I understand that but if you aren’t even giving them a chance to try the puzzles or even think about them you are ruining the experience.

decided to give the escape game a go, prior to booking for a crowd of us. asked about if any good and friends said this place was pretty good. not sure if I would like it as fear of being locked in lol and small spaces, but was okay and felt safe - only thing to say is padlocks are hard to read and takes precious time, once you get going its real fun but would say more of you the better chance of completing, but still enjoyed dispite not making it out lol - it does take a little bit of time to get in to the swing of it and if we had longer time as only two people we may have got a little further

We completed the AI9 room last week as a group of 3. The room was really good, the puzzles nice and varied.

Some of the locks though, were pretty difficult to see in the dim light.. definitely take reading glasses if your eyesight isn't perfect. You might also need them when looking at one of the puzzles on a screen because the writing is pretty small.

There is only one room here, which is a bit of a shame as it's pretty exciting when you discover the next room to go in.

The hosts were great.. the clues came via a screen in the room. There was probably slightly too many clues than we'd ideally have liked. We escaped with almost 10 minutes remaining, so could have felt a little more challenged.

We'd definitely choose Clue HQ again to do one of the other rooms.

Had such a great time at Clue HQ with friends last weekend. Escape rooms really well thought out and very authentic. We enjoyed it so much that as soon as we got out we queued up to buy another game straight away! Bunker 38 was really good fun and Cluetenkamun was tricky but also enjoyable. Ethan was particularly enthusiastic and helpful and let us know about returners discount for our second game!

Very disappointing experience. We had done 3 rooms at the Bristol one which was excellent, they recommended coming to the Swindon one to do the detonation room. The 2 out of 5 stars is for the room only which was excellent. The whole experience was let down by the staff. We started with one guy who was introduced as our game controller. They appeared to swap staff half way through and they then had no idea where we were with what we had an hadn’t done and then ultimately gave us a clue for a puzzle we hadn’t accessed this then wasted 15 minutes of our time as we couldn’t figure it out and turns out we wouldn’t. We tried really hard not to ask for clues and when we did no body answered and we asked multiple times about one puzzle and nothing for 20 minutes. Very disappointing experience, they need new more engaging staff who actually want to be there and help. Will not be returning or recommending.
