It seems you can’t get away from the smell of weed and although it appears an attempt has been made to cut the grass in the last twelve months, it was still untidy to be polite. To be honest it was just scruffy.

Although I didn’t see one, I can only assume there is a Tenants Super shop in the park as it seems to be the recreational drink of choice. Plenty of artwork in the park if you’re into graffiti and the distressed look.

Had a look around the reservoir and water sports centre to find the theme continues. Watch where you’re walking and be careful if you sit on a bent. People like to spit on these as they pass.

My grandson and I walked through the park. He was on his scooter and me just walking and enjoying the view.
We met some dog walkers and of course, the playground was full of happy little children but I felt lucky to live near so much countryside and nature. Such a beautiful park. We saw squirrels and water birds as well as ring necked parakeets.
Love that someone has painted the old bird houses.
I’ll attach some pictures.
Love Debdale ❤️

I believe I am so lucky to live so close to this beautiful piece of countryside.

Fields, flowers 💐, trees🌲, reservoirs and of course not forgetting the wildlife 🐇 🦆 🦢!

My friend and I walked up Kings Road, through Devils Elbow, past the Donkey Sanctuary across the Cycle Loop 🚲 over Debdale Reservoir and through Debdale Park 🌳 🌲. It’s a good three mile walk and so peaceful and lovely.

Of course the playground is closed because of the virus, but what a beautiful walk. We saw blackbirds, thrushes, robins, greenfinch, ducks, coots, swans and moorhen. Not a car or motorbike in site. Even the two golf courses were closed.

We need to remind ourselves of this beautiful planet and although it has taken the tragedy of the Coronavirus (once again caused by the human race and the treatment / eating of animals) to cause us to pause, we now need to stop and smell the roses 🌹 in life.

Appreciate nature everyone.

Take care of each other 💕

Once again I have visited Debdale park and with it being spring all the blossoms were out on the trees. A beautiful array of colours was presented before us. I have attached some pictures.
There were people walking dogs, children on the playground, others playing tennis on the courts and families sitting on the grass.
We walked through the park as the morning runners past us by, towards the reservoirs where other people were in MacDonalds.
Still one of the nicest parks in Manchester and yet so few reviews!
Perhaps because it is a hidden unexpected gem in an inner city suburb.
Next time you want a walk to admire nature, choose Debdale and the surrounding reservoirs.

So once again we took a stroll around Debdale Park, the reservoirs and the lanes. It’s a favourite moment of ours.

We love that we have so much tranquility in the middle of our city. There are birds, flowers and peace when you walk this route.

We saw Canada Geese, Swans, Coots, Moorhens and various species of ducks on the full moon reservoir. The view across the water is so spectacular, you wouldn’t think you were in a central Manchester suburb.

We started on Debdale Lane and walked up to the Donkey Sanctuary past the artesian wells, then along the cycle path past the sailing club and back in to the park where there were children playing.

Because the sun was shining the main part of the park was busy as the ice cream van was there. We even saw a little dog being treated to an ice cream! There were children on the play area and young men playing tennis as well as skate boards in the concrete area.

There is still a well kept and pleasant crown green blowing club on the park which you often see players on.

This park provides a lovely piece of countryside for the local community and although it is a shame that people still choose to drop litter on the lanes, it is still a lovely walk with lots to see.

Long live this lovely peaceful spot.

We went for a walk around the reservoirs and then round Debdale Park to get some fresh air and exercise.

The only people we saw were dog walkers and a couple of joggers. It was peaceful and lovely.

The Donkey Sanctuary had some activity and we could hear the donkeys which made us smile.

MacDonalds was busy and there appeared to be something happening at the sailing centre on Debdale Resservoir.

We saw a variety of swans, Canada geese, ducks, moor hens and coots on the water and there was an abundance of squirrels in the park. We loved seeing them all.

Sadly Debdale house is derelict now and the Eco centre looked a little unkept but it is winter.

The mini pitch and put golf course has sadly grown over but we still enjoyed the amount of space and countryside offered by the park, the reservoirs and Kings Road. It is so built up around here and we love this park to give us some freedom.

I hope that this space remains as our little bit of countryside where we can walk and relax. Don't ever change.

Been quite a few years since I've been here used to just visit for the fair in my youth
Returned this bank holiday weekend with my side kick the dog and we loved it
It's well kept and surprisingly very quite and had a tranquil feeling about it
Walked around the reservoirs and the fishing lake and then passed the donkey sanctuary and toured around the grounds it was endless...
We both enjoyed it
the overall verdict lies with the dog who was fast asleep in the car on our short journey home
Job done !!.... it's a paws up from her and a thumbs up from me

Debdale Park sits on the borders of Manchester, Stockport and Tameside and is close to the Yorkshire Moors and Peak District. With an active Friends Group working to develop the already excellent facilities inspired by Manchester's famous Belle Vue - which closed in 1977 - this is a great place for days out or as a holiday base from which to explore a vast variety of adventures.

Some of the features -

* Donkey Centre
* Picturesque reservoirs
* Water birds
* Bat walks
* Cycling 4 All
* Hotel
* Restaurants
* Water adventure facilities
* Eco Centre
.... and much more.

We found this place by accident as we were looking for somewhere new to walk our dog and ended up there for hours and we return every week.
Free (but limited) parking but there is a McDonalds directly opposite and there's also a bar-restaurant next to it.
The parkland is gorgeous and extensive with lots of well-kept gardens and dogs are welcome throughout, apart from the playpark obviously.
There are plenty of dog mess bins provided alongside normal litter bins and every time we go, there are always plenty of other, friendly dogwalkers and often people without dogs who are always ready with a friendly smile and a "hello".
There's also a nature trail, an orchard and you can follow the park path round to gain access to a bridge that crosses over the fishing lake and Debdale reservoir which leads to a beautiful woodland walk around Debdale reservoir (although you do meet a lot of dogwalkers so if you have a dog with you, I'd advise you to keep your dog on a leash) - in places it's steep and slippy so keep animals/children close to you and keep them to the wooded side rather than the waterside and there are plenty of benches to sit down along the way and also plenty of lovely photo opportunities.
