The area
Address
Neighborhood: Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

    High end Shopping mall
A top notch high end brands right opposite Duomo. If you are a budget buyer then probably move a little on outskirts of this area in 1 km radius you may get some good brands and deal. The perfume market in Rinascente Plaza next to galleria is worth spending a few dollars.

Always a joy to see this brilliant piece of architecture
A compulsory stop for anyone on their first visit to Milan - literally only a one minute walk from the Duomo. Some nice shops and cafes and of course on any and every visit to Milan you have to spin around three times on the oversized genitalia of the bull in the floor to bring you good luck. On a more serious note do have a good look around you including upwards; this neo-renaissance building is one of the finest 19th century iron-framed buildings and one of the earliest shopping plazas in Europe. A quite fabulous piece of architecture.

The center of the fashion world!
If you truly want to feel that you are at the center of the world of fashion, head to the center of the Galleria and take a spin. You'll see every high fashion/couture brand represented. Be sure to visit both day and night to see its beauty lit up. It is an incredibly busy throughway so just beware of the crowds. If you're looking for high end shopping or a Michelin star bite to eat, this is the place to be. For a more affordable fashion souvenir, head to the Piumelli shop. The gentlemen there are incredibly friendly and helpful with great quality Italian leather products.

    Magical night
A must see in Milan. The original Fratelli Prada is located here. Also, find the bull on the floor and put your heel in and spin three times counter clockwise for good luck! This place at night is magical. All high end stores and experiences. Great restaurants overlooking it.

    Oldest Active Shopping Mall
The Galleria Vittoria Emanuele II is the oldest active shopping mall in the world. The beautiful iron and glass ceiling is quite impressive. The mosaics on the floor complement the ceiling. The mall is about half way between La Scala and the Duomo di Milano. The mall is a short walk from La Scala and from the Duomo di Milano.

    Milan shopping center place
The shopping gallery of Milan is the most visited place, but be aware of the prices, some of the most luxury brands are presented, but you can also have a decent meal on affordable prices, while strolling. Be prepare for the crowd and the noise, but do not forget to look up so you can admire the ceiling with its spectacular shapes. Same is valid for the floor with mosaic pictures. Recommend to check the shops outside of this area, but neat the Duomo center.

    Interesting Sight In Milan.
The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele ll is a Mall, but it looks like a church with it's 'on the way to heaven' glass ceiling, it's great walls, and sparkling marble floors ....... ......simply great architecture. Not much religion practiced here, more like a 'shop until you drop' mantra. The property is smack dab in the middle of some of the finest shopping in the world ......the likes of Gucci, Pucci, Prada, Omega, Ferragama and so much more. I truly enjoyed the people watching opportunities as shoppers sported their latest purchased fashions. I consider the Galleria one of the most interesting sights in Milan.

    A Must Experience in Milan
The Galleria is a Shopper's paradise. Even if you don't buy a thing from Prada, Louis Vuitton, Chanel etc. to see these stores is an experience unto itself. This beautiful Galleria was built by Guiseppe Mengoni and was built between 1865 and 1877. It is an incredible artistic structure. Take your chance and spin around on the lower portion of the bull and make a wish.

Very interesting place to walk around and enjoy the scene
We visited here to window shop a couple of times and explored some of the restaurants. It is something everyone who comes to Milan should experience. The decorations are really amazing and it is close to many of the other things most people want to see in Milan.

    Stunning Architecture
The Galleria itself is simply stunning - the architecture, marble and ceilings are truly breath taking. It houses a variety of high end boutiques as well as fashionable restaurants. It's a popular venue and always bustling with people taking selfie and insta-shots. It is also home to a fantastic da Vinci exhibition which is definitely worth a visit (and if you didn't get to see The Last Supper, it has a room dedicated to it with interactive multimedia that provides fascinating insights).

Everyone who visits Milan ends up going to the magnificent Duomo, the incomparable cathedral of the city. A two minute stroll away, stands the magnificent Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II a majestic venue with elegant shops that transports you to another era. The Galleria is often crowded so try to schedule your visit during the morning when you can enjoy it better.

It may be a little confusing to walk inside, after a while it becomes disorienting to figure out which way is which. All stores look the same then you may loose your way out. It has nice restaurant & bars. It was really crowded day and night.

It’s one of those must see places but it’s not as big as you think or as classy. It is full of dimwits posing like goons for social media, shops are no better than anywhere else in the city and restaurants did not seem welcoming. Motte at the main entrance is an exception. Definitely have coffee and a pastry there and watch the dimwits at your leisure.

It’s no arc Della pace but it’s easily mistaken as an arc in itself, thank goodness for the helpful locals setting me straight and on the right path.

This entrance is an architectural masterpiece for a high end galleria or mall, essentially. Milan has always been known for its fashion, first and foremost, architecture is definitely its second best known skill.

The detailing of the entrance to the galleria is beyond impressive, the interior is just as jaw dropping. I can only imagine the builders of our high end malls in seeing this galleria and leaving with their tails between their legs and feeling their second best collection comes pale in comparison.

Very welcome in Milan's less than warm weather. After delightful weather in Venice and Verona, Milan came as a bit of a shock, much colder and wetter. This great arcade was a shelter for hundreds of tourists and locals and contains up market shops.Very attractive. Seems to be pretty much identical to another one in Naples.

Stunning place as always.
This is the second time i visit this place and what impressed me was that everyday all restaurants inside had full reservations. Prices are a bit hight and over budget but for one time really worth to try a restaurant there.
In the middle of the Galleria many people post social media pictures and videos about this place.
In general is a very famous place to visit.

Largest and most famous shopping galleria in Milan. Next to the Duomo - packed with people both day and night. The inside of the galleria are filled with the most elite and expensive stores ... fun to spend a few hours inside the dome structure. A must see!

OK, the architecture is nice, but that's about it. It houses overpriced shops that most people cannot afford to purchase anything in. There are masses of people just wandering around taking photographs. The cafés are expensive and the staff arrogant. I'd suggest just visiting for 5 minutes to say that you've been there and maybe take a photo or two, before you go to the spectacuar O Dourmo, which is across the street,

You will enjoy the energized atmosphere in this magnificient building full of top designer boutiques. And when the Opera starts their season and you missed the tickets to La Scala, you will have the chance to enjoy the Opera in the Gallery where the big screen is put for the people to see and to listen. You will feel this majestic feeling as you were in La Scala.
Highly recommended to visit!

Reputed to be the oldest shopping mall in Italy. It is named after Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of Italy. There are two glass vaulted arcades intersecting in an octagon covering the street connecting Piazza del Duomo to Piazza Della Scala. The central octagonal space is topped with a glass dome. On the ground of the central octagonal, there are four mosaics portraying the coat of arms of the three capitals of the kingdom of Italy, ( Turin, Florence and Rome) plus Milan's. There are numerous shops and dining places. Principally, the galleria contains luxury retailers selling haute couture, jewelry, books and paintings as well as restaurants , cafes, bars and a hotel.
