We drove up the beautiful valley from our house rental in Aosta, it was well worth the 40 minute drive to enjoy fabulous skiing! We skied here 4 years ago staying close by so we knew how good it is. The ski area is huge, it joins up with Cervinia and down in to Zermatt. But whether or not you ski to the Swiss side or stick to the Italian area it is really great skiing for all. At the top of the cable car at Valtournenche the views are truly stunning. The days we skied this year gave us the most stunning blue skies we have ever seen even in Colorado and Canada! Lovely lodge restaurant to warm up in with great food and drink too (Willy Bar, yes really!) also if you are lucky enough to have sun shine a great out door area to sit or relax.

The last stop of the lift from Brueil Cervinia takes you to a place worth visiting as you reach the Italian glacier. The views are great and you get your foot on the Swiss side of the mountain. At 3500 meters though it is pretty cold even in August so put on your heavy gear and enjoy!

Had 2 days skiing on the glacier with Precise Racing. Fantastic conditions with great snow and no queues. Took a while to access via 3 lifts but worth the effort. Runs off the chair from Trockener Steg were awesome.

Amazing views and great skiing from intermediates to advanced. If you get there on a windy day, hold on to your pants! Otherwise take your time to stop on a sunny day and admire the views. The landscape is magnificent.

Don’t look too much further. Cervinia Plateau Rose is simply one of the best spot of Alps. While the new gondola is so modern and easy to reach. Superb superb view!

There is plenty of good skiing to be had from the Plateau Rosa area, either down into Switzerland or staying on the Italian side.

Lots of runs available and a great selection of red runs plus blacks. Fabulous snow this year - soft with minimal ice

This place is paradise. The entire surroundings and the Grandes Murailles - the mountains that lie on the south side of the Matterhorn - make this place a fenomenal natural spectacle that resembles a gigantic arena.

Plateau Rosa in July was our first summertime skiing experience. During our two sunny days, the slopes were nicely hard in the mornings (until ~9am), but became quite sloshy by noon. Due to apparently an exceptionally warm summer, the slopes down from Testa Grigia were closed; the main slopes at the Plateau Rosa and the park were open. The Grenzlift and Gobba di Rollin were open a few hours from ~10am until maybe 1pm, when all the lifts closed.
Please do take the warnings about crevasses seriously and keep on the pistes. A skier had died just recently, when a snow bridge had collapsed and he had fallen about 25 meters to a crevasse.
Note that to get to the Grenzlift from Plateau Rosa 1 or 2, you had to walk uphill a short distance. That was easily doable, but not so nice in the thin air. Due to the Testa 1 lift being closed, you also needed to carry uphill all your stuff to Rifugio Guide de Cervino, which took some effort. Even if the Testa lift had been open, you would still have needed to carry your stuff uphill to the funicular to get back to Cervinia.
We experienced no or very little queues in the mornings, but when they closed the second of the main Plateau Rosa lifts at noon, an Italian style queue started to accumulate.
The slopes are mostly blue, with some parts as easy reds. No blacks. However, if you are a beginner, getting down from the top of the main lifts may be challenging in the morning when the slopes are still hard and maybe icy. For a beginner, it may be a good idea to start by leaving the lift in the middle, before the steeper part, and ski from there. Some people seemed to do so, even though it might have been officially forbidden.

At this top, you will get nice food, at good prices, to a fantastic view and normal toilets! Odd combination, but you will get the value of this entering toilets in other restaurants in the Cervinia skiing area. You will find normal toilets at: Igloo, Plan Tourette, Plan Maison on the fine dining restaurant (NOT the lift station of the cabin/egg. Just next to the chair lift) and Plateau Rosa. Else, there are just wholes in the ground. Hard to manage in full skiing gear in skiing shoes. You need to be acrobatic!
Plateau Rosa is the best starting point for all skiing in both Cervinia and Zermatt. You might lose your breath, for several reasons. The beauty of nature, and the thin air as well. Just go there!

I primi di settembre, consigliate di andare su in tuta da sci o basta esser coperti bene? Scarpe normali o solo doposcì? Grazie

Is the toboggan run open in the summer?
We would love to go up to Plateau Rosà for the snow and the view, but we aren't skiers, so I was wondering if it would still be worth it to visit without skiing...
Hi, Can we still ski there end of August and if so, is there any local place where we can hire skiing equipment for children?

As far as I know, they intend to keep the summer slopes open until early September. Search for Cervinia orari-impianti-e-piste
However, when we were there in mid July (2019), the summer had been warmer than usually. While the glacier will not melt in one warm summer, some of the usually open summer slopes were closed.
We hired skiing equipment for ourselves from Nol Ski, which is in the middle of the village. They do have skiing equipment for children, but they lacked children park skis.

Hi. I will be visiting the area in May and unfortunately both the Breuil-Cervinia and Courmayeur cable cars will be closed. I am wondering if the mountain views from these places are worth a visit despite that issue. I am not much of a hiker but I can do an easy hike of 1-2 km. Any suggestions or comparison of the two places are welcome.

I may suggest the Zermatt(Swiss) side of Cervinia, where the cable car operates to the summit (3900+ meters) all season for the observation deck(with magnificent Motterhorn view), and also for skiers in the Glacier Paradise.
From Zermatt, also the train with gear-wheels operates all seasons.
I hope this helps

if you do not ski, can you buy a round trip ticket to get to Plateau Rosa?

Boa tarde, para se alcançar o Plateau Rosa, usa-se teleferico com cabines fechadas e qual o tempo de
acesso, bem como preço por pessoa e horarios. De onde pate o teleferico em Cervinia.

There are two parallel gondola lines from Breuil to Plain Maison, named "Breuil-Plain Maison" on the "Via Bardoney" road, the station has 2 levels, one big gondola and the other for smaller gondolas, at least one of them will be working off season
