A superior shopping experience with a wide range of Sicilian food and wine. Informed and welcoming staff, reasonable prices. Take time to browse the shelves. As the name of the store would indicate, the selection of olive oils is outstanding.

It was the second time I went to Olive and on both occasions I got to try all sorts of delicious Sicilian liqueurs, They have it all - salt, oils, chocolates, honey, wine, herbs... anything they have open (or can open) they will, and you can try it with no real push to actually buy anything.. but really, you should.

I left both times armed with a great selection of goods. Hopefully they'll last me until my next trip to Sicily, but I doubt it.

We purchased one jar of pistachio pesto to take home after sampling it the night before. I was sure that I could find it in the New York area so didn't need to buy any more. Well, it turns out that I was wrong and am now wishing that I'd purchased more. The oils here were lovely and the service attentive, so make sure to stop by. We even got to speak a bit of French!

I've read that products are expensive in this shop. For some it might be true, chocolate from Modica is more expensive here, but this is no ordinary souvenir shop. The owner takes its time and would rather talk about the local, crafted products he promotes rather than making a quick sale.

Products can be tested before purchase, so you really know what you're taking home.

The shop looks beautiful, welcoming, unusual, cosy and spacious.

Raffaele was very helpful on this visit. I popped in for some Olive Oil tasting and purchasing. Being the centre of town and in a tourist area you should expect it to be a little more expensive but the service and the helpfulness makes up for it. Have a visit, a non obligatory tasting and enjoy.

The gentleman at the shop was quite friendly and we did not feel pressured to buy anything. We started with tasting olive oil, and he said he we would try four different types. We expressed interest in buying only a very small container, because of the limitations of our luggage and he remain very friendly, and we tried even a few more tastings. We also tried Arancello because we had had Limoncello before. He advised us on any of the other products for which we had a question. It was a good experience. We were most surprised by how different the EVOs here were from the ones we are used to buying--"smoother", less fruity, less oily.

I had been in Sicily for a month, traveling from west to east - and then south eventually ending my trip in Malta. I had been looking for a particular wine the entire month. I did some research and discovered that Marsala was in Sicily. Who knew?! The best was hard to find. Syracuse was my last stop before Malta and I knew I wouldn't find it there. I went to Olive. The man there opened early for me. The store was VERY nice - and it was nice and cool - a break from the hot sun. I explained what I was looking for and he had a few bottles. I couldn't believe it. He was also nice enough to give me some samples of olive oils from different regions around Sicily and explained the difference (BIG difference!). I bought lots of gifts, some for myself and some other bottles of wine. I had other errands to run and he held the box for me for a while. Very nice place. I wish I discovered it sooner.
