After you have visited the Atomium and rushed through crowded spheres and tubes, consider walking back to the city centre through this magnificent park. Good to walk. Benches are available, but some people also sit on the lawn. The Monument of the Dynasty can be visited but not entered. The part close to the Royal Palace is also not accessible to the public. Still a good place to relax and enjoy.

A park designed for the World’s Fair, it is a quiet place for a run. While it looks very large on the map, the majority of the park is off limits to the public. However, you can run to other parks for a longer run but you will be on the street for some of the time.

There are a lot of things to see in Laken, but what is so special is that they are not just visible like 'that'. You need to take some time to stroll through the streets. Off course there is the Atomium, the cemetery (with the Rodin Thinker), the beautiful park Sobiesky next to the Atomium.... But there is so much more. If you want to discover the secrets of this beautiful place check out the website of Laeken Découverte for their guided tours (pre-scheduled or book your private guided tour)! See: http://www.laekendecouverte.be

If you step out at the Metro station Bockstael go to the rue des artistes 1° and have a great coffee on the sunny terras (in summertime ;-) of the Café des artistes

I consider it the best park in Brussels and one of its landmarks, situated next to the atomium, these very wide gardens are just amazing with its hills and trees, lovely nature, relaxing spirit and enjoyable paths. Suitable for all ages and all activities and of course its beautiful scenery for photos, it's a must see when in Brussels

The Laeken is located close to the Atomium and is a nice park to walk through. We walked through it after visiting the Atomium and back towards our hotel. There are a number of gardens to view and it’s a nice place to sit and relax or have a picnic. It is suitable for all ages and with no problems for wheelchairs.

Laeken looks big on the map, but it is essentially a large private royal compound. Most of the southern part of the park is the private gardens of the Laeken Palace which is the everyday home of the royal family and closed to the public, although you can see it from a distance. Laeken is worth a visit for a pleasant stroll through the Belgian equivalent of London’s Hyde Park.

Recommend – if you are looking for a pleasant walk, take the tram (Line 2 or 7) to Araucaria. Follow the park around, you can see the Chinese Pavilion (visit if you want to) and follow the high walled back garden of the palace on your left on to Avenue du Parc Royal. You can’t miss the palace. Cross over and walk through the park to the Atomium (visit if you wish). Exit via the fantastic 1930s Art Deco Place de Belgic exhibition centre (visit if you wish) using the metro station at Heysal.

public toilet – if you find yourself wishing you hadn’t had all that Belgian beer at lunch time, there is a toilet on the corner of Avenue des Seringas, beside the playing field and a few 100 yards from the Place Luis Steens roundabout. It is a weird auto

On our way to Atomium we decided to stop other side of the park in Laeken Palace. Large, beautiful park full of life from joggers to people with dogs. Lots to see in this area, so take comfy shoes and camera

We went there in October, the bright colors of the leaves were amazing! We also enjoyed the quiet and peaceful atmosphere in the parc.
