With very clear instructions where to gather I was welcomed by my guide, Maja, and picked a bike. The first part of the tour was mainly down-hill; an easy ride with some nice stories on the history of Lisbon, a taste of the local drink, etc. Because one of the bikes in our group broke down, we had to stay a bit longer in one place (waiting for the recovery vehicle, well organized), we were entertained by some more stories of Maja: worked out fine. After some more roads we visited the Market Hall, before we took the bicycle path along the coast/river and ended in the end at some beautiful landmark with some further information on things to visit in the area and instructions how to get back to the city center. All was well-organized, some nice stories and a friendly face from our guide. I would join again.

Excellent way of discovering Lisbon. You start at the highest point and cycle downhill all the way.
Our children loved it. We had a Dutch speaking guide who was raised in Portugal. His communication style was very elaborate compared to Dutch standards. But because he was knowledgable, young and did this to earn money for his trip to the Netherlands it did not matter. Just by cycling at a relaxed pace we saw a lot of the Lisbon city. With a stop at the oldest café of Lisbon. Well recommended.

Gerard was an amazing & passionate guide who showed us the best parts of Lisbon. We asked him for advice on things to see & restaurants to visit afterwards & they have been the highlights of our trip. The bike trip was comfortable & pleasantly downhill. 10/10 would recommend.

We booked the Lissabon Highlights bicycle tour.
Miguel was our guide. He is a great guy!
Tells you everything you need to know about Lissabon in a couple of hours.

2 couples (small group) - was perfect. Tour takes 3 hours but probably we talked to much and had a long cosy break so it took 4 hours. Time flies when you're having fun!

Departure Parque Eduardo VII down hill to Baixa region, near the water up to Belem.
No efforts needed, only down hill so you only need the breaks to slow down you speed :-)

Most surprising for me was the beauty of the Combatentes do Ultramar and the Champalimaud Foundation.

Your arrival area Belem is not the same as your departure area (Parque Eduardo VII - Sao Sebastiao) . Best option is to walk around in the Belem area afterwards, visit the Mosteiro dos Jeronimos, the Torre de Belem and go up the Padrao dos Desobrimentos.

I would recommend a bike tour as you will visit some places, parcs etc... where even the hop on/hop off bus cannot pass.

Next time we would like to try the Tapas Tour or the mountain bike tour in Sintra area for the sporties.

I will share 17 pictures... please take my advice and take a bike tour!

Hello,

We had a bike trip in Lissabon with Juan, a nice guy. As a guide he is a little bit boring however. The trip was good, but a pity we didnt see a lot of Lissabon in the centre. We biked from uppertown to downtown, and drove more then an hour alone the water to belem. The trip is also very expensive compared to other Baja bike trips. Nice bike trip, but not the most interesting.

We are are a family of 5, but were with 12 for the Tour.
Back from belem to centre on your own with the train.

We booked a half day cycle to help us get the lay of the land on our first day in Lisbon and were not disappointed! Yes, Lisbon is hilly, but we start at Park Eduard 7 (which we found easily from the Metro blue line), then its downhill through the main shopping district of Lisbon (with a coffee stop complete with Pasteles do Nata!). Then we proceeded along the river on bike paths, with the guide pointing out various points of interest if you wanted to visit then later. You end up in Belem and make your own way baby to Lisbon (we took the yellow tram). It was really fun and informative...plus you get to meet other people who prefer more active sightseeing options! Highly recommend!

We made a bike trip with baja bike tours on the 25th of april, revolution day.
The bike tour was very good with a good english leader. She spoke very good and clearly about her city. We started in the gardens of Eduardo 7 and went to the center were we got a pastry and a drink, after that we biked to Belem . We did see the highlights of lisbon and the leader spoke clearly about the founding of the revolution and how the city was builded up. We had a great 4 hour trip.

Private bike tour with Miguel was fabulous! Miguel was very knowledgeable and took us to all of the major spots in Lisbon. He tailored the tour to our interests and left us with some great recommendations! I highly recommend this tour - do it at the beginning of your stay to get the lay of the land!
