These guys are directly outside the exit at Sintra station. We had to get back to Lisbon by 5pm so were not able to take up one of the full tours on offer. Once we explained what we wanted to see, they tailor made a little trip around the amazing palaces and castles, with the option to get out and take pics, and a stop off for a relaxing lunch. We were assigned Fernando, a very entertaining and engaging guide, telling us great stories, as well as facts, along the way, including a very colorful personal history (if you're nosy!) Sintra is a magical, mysterious place, like something out of a story book, and a must see. I wish we had stayed over a night to truly enjoy the experience. The main village has an infinite variety of cafes and restaurants to choose from, tho it is also a bit of a tourist trap, with all the gift shops and boutiques- beware! Wonder Van was a wonderful option to enjoy the place with a brilliant guide. To cover the ground we did in the car would have been impossible to achieve on foot, even if we had the whole day, and also exhausting as it's a mountain village built on a steep incline. The narrow roads are a danger to walkers so I would strongly recommend Wonder Van to anyone who wants a personalized, unique experience. The cost was reasonable, 80 euros for the two of us for 4 hours, however, that was an adjustment i think as the tour was tweaked for us.
