About
Hello , My name is Miguel and I will be happy to welcome you and be your guide .I have a degree at the University of Lisbon and I worked as a guide in Spain and Italy. I have been a guide in Portugal since 2010. With All these years of experience I will make your day memorable. During our tours we will skip all the lines and go where the locals go. Let's abandon the idea of having long lines and visit places where they are full of tourists. That will not happen to us. If you are looking for a relaxing , calm , peaceful day where you can get to know the Portuguese culture then you are in the right place . Hope to see you soon Best regards Miguel ♥

Eduardo (Eddie)arrived very early to try to meet us as there was a taxi strike that day and the roads downtown Lisbon were blocked. He identified us quickly and got us out of the city very efficiently and on our tour. Eduardo was excellent - he was incredibly knowledgeable about the sights and the history behind them - He made an effort to understand what we wanted from the day and delivered what we wanted. He was very open to our requested changes to the itinerary, while suggesting a couple of new ones or ones we should not miss. In the few areas where he left us on our own he was always waiting for us where he had said he would be. He answered all our questions, was polite, charming and entertaining. We could not have asked for a better guide. Eduardo obviously loves his job. Thank you

Our guide Miguel suggested and early pickup at 8am. We arrive without any traffic and Miguel ,dropped us since my cousin has sight problems, parked the vehicle and then spent time with us at Fatima, explaining the separate areas, churches and sanctuaries.we purchased candles lit them while saying prayers and odd as it was throw them in a burning fire. We visited the church where the children are buried. By the time we departed 2 hours later, it was crowded..As Catholics it was a highly emotional experience.
Next Miguel brought us to Lucia's home and we had a guided tour in side.

Miguel said he had a surprise for us and it was the highlight of the day.He brought us to Tomar to view the Convento Di Cristo. Miguel is Highly knowledgeable about the history, architecture of the castle. Through his history we were brought back in time 9 centuries before. He explained that the convent was a 12 C.stronghold of and founded by the Poor Order of the Temple in 1118. in 1190 it was encircled and resisted the armies of the Caliph al-Mansure. However the Templar order in 1319 was dissolved by King Denis or Portugal and thereafter Pope John XXII instituted the Order of Christ. and thus the seat of the former Knights Templar was converted in 1357 to the new Order. This new order supported the maritime discoveries of Portugal. and is now a UNESCO world heritage site.It was like we were transformed back in time. The interior as well as the exterior are extraordinary.

A most wonderful and enlightening day with our guide John. Suggested early pickup at our hotel to avoid the crowds. Since my cousin had some sight and walking problems, he was very aware and dropped us off at the gate- first to enter!!!!!!! We were first in the trolley to Pena Palace. Because we did not want to enter the interior, he took us thru the gift shop to the lift- avoiding a steep and crowded walkway
.He was so informative on the palace's history and different types of architecture. We were able to go into the kitchen area and I climbed with him to the chapel- Stained Glass window was amazing in its history Ferdinand and Vasco Da Gama on his return from 2 years exploring the orient.
From there we returned to the town of Sintra and explored every room of the National Palace. This was the highlight of the day- It is also the best preserved medieval royal palace in Portugal. The tiles in each room were so spectacular and each room had its own history, which John enlightened us with.
The palace had interior fountains with running water brought from the mountains and even an outside tiled shower room with holes in the walls --where the ladies would take showers fully dressed to cool off. Amazing!!! The kitchen had 2 300' towers used as exhaust for all the wood being burned for cooking. way ahead of the times.

After at least almost 2 hour tour we were on our way to Cascais a seaside resort.
An unbelievable meal of Sea Bass that was brought out to us-then grilled and filleted. Cascais was the home of many European Royalty since Portugal was a neutral country.

Finally a visit to Cabo da Roca-Lands End as the westernmost point in Europe.
Touristy but worth the time to look out at the Atlantic in a direct line to Baltimore Maryland.

John was an exceptional guide and real gentleman whose every thought was the comfort of his passengers

The guide was not very knowledgeable, he talked only about himself, he left us to do lots on our own and he always returned late. The first thing he said when we got in the car was that he is giving up being a guide as it is boring. No water orWifi aspromised for the trip. Appalling

Our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. He adjusted to my special needs and physical limitations with consideration and understanding. The tour was conducted in a newer, roomy SUV. We heard history of the region, current events, and advice on the social amenities of the area. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

We booked a private tour to Sintra and Cascais. Miguel picked us up at our hotel on time at 8am. Drove to Sintra providing us with lots of history about Portugal and the local area. He was very friendly and professional throughout the day. Gave us a tour around Sintra and allowed us time to explore on our own. Took us to the most Western part of mainland Europe, a small wine cellar and then Cascais. Recommend a local seafood restaurant that was sensational. Rather than drop us back to our hotel took us to the start of tram 28 that takes you on a 1-1.5 hour trip around the steep and narrow streets of Lisbon that was fantastic.
We would highly recommend this private tour with Miguel who also gave us some ideas when we travelled elsewhere in Portugal

We had not planned on doing a tour in Sintra but ended up being overwhelmed by the bus line when we got there. We were able to get a private tour with Katrina and it was the best decision we made! She was fantastic! She knew so much about Sintra and where to go. We ended up doing the walking tour. We walked to the Moorish Castle, National Balance, and Quinta de Regaleira. She explained all of the history and interesting facts at each site. We ended the day with a Port wine tasting. It was absolutely incredible! We cannot recommend this tour enough!

My wife and I were extremely pleased with the tour we did with Miguel. The tour covered Sinatra, Estoril and parts of Lisbon. He tailored the trip to our exact specifications and then gave us wide orbit to do our own thing at each site. Miguel is also very personable and very easy to spend time with.

Thelma was great! Warm, flexible and humorous. She shuttled us around the crowds so we could see what we wanted, as long as we wanted with no waiting for buses or connections.. Highly recommended!
We exited the train station with a throng of other day trippers. We didn't know which bus to take, where to buy tickets or what site to visit first. The cabies weren't helpful. We stumbled on Thelma in front of the train station and all our confusion evaporated. We were lucky to find her. Her services are a bargain; book her in advance if you can.

I usually travel as a solo woman, who has been blessed to go on many tours / day trips around the world. Honestly, I simply cannot say enough positive things about this day! Miguel was the best possible guide: knowledgeable, professional, and personable. I enjoyed and benefited from his insights, adaptability, and good humor throughout the day. I enthusiastically would sign up for another tour with him! Happy to provide additional “color and commentary” to other TripAdvisees, if it would be helpful…
