Beautifully resored and renovated a few years ago, this is a splendid building and venue for all kinds of musical performance, from singing competitions, to sacred music, to great orchestral works, the acoustics are brilliant.

The Villa Marina has a cinema and often has shows on as well. However, we only went here to booked tickets for the Gaiety Theatre, so I can't comment on any of the facilities they offer apart from the box office where the staff were very helpful.

sunday afternoon my two daughters and granddaughter and myself went to see downton abbey ah well now the cinema is full and we get there around fifteen minutes before film is due to start so commercials are on no problem i thought wrong they went on and on for almost half an hour the film was due to start at 4.30but finally start at 4.43 by this time i was looking forward to the film finally. All started well except it was getting really unbearably hot then we started to get different coloured lights on screen red green and white detracting from film. I was getting a bit annoyed as i was also roasting like a chicken in an oven so i went to tell a member of staff to put the air conditioning on there were several people by this time already complaining the lady staff told me they were sorting it out and i went back to my seat thinking it would soon be ok. No it wasnt suddenly the film stopped and a member of staff told us they were having problems and were sorti g it out. So we were all chatting and it was still so hot i went back and said is anything being done about air-conditioning well everything had tripped when they out air-conditioning on great i went back to my seat again hotter than the surface of the sun by now so people were starting to walk out we gave them half an hour and no one told us anything and we decided to get a refund and go along with most of audience. We should have been kept informed and given a choice of either staying or going which we werent what a totally disorganised shambles

This is an attractive complex along the prom. The arcade of shops has been immaculately restored and includes a stamp shop as well as a very popular cafe which is always busy. There are also old fashioned toilets. Although the 1d in the slot is still on the door, they are now free!

Behind the arcade is an area of grassland with a few trees with a corner display of raised flower beds.

It looks good and there are seats in the gardens - useful to know at the moment while all the work is going on along the prom.

Attended "The Musicals in Concert" at the Villa Marina and had booked Balcony seats at £25 each. Only able to see one side of the stage and only the top of the heads of the performers. Very disappointing - these types of restricted viewing seats should have a much reduced cost.

Great venue hosting variety of entertainment. Attended the Neil Diamond Tribute show which was great. The lead singer sounded like ND and the backing singers had excellent voices. The band were excellent. Overall a great night.

Next door to the gaiety theatre it's worth checking if any things on. We went to two brass band concerts, the Rushen Silver Band and The Manx Youth Band. They are free concerts but you asked to make a donation. There is a poster on a floor stand just inside the entrance so you can check what's coming up.

This is worth visiting when strolling along the prom. Useful especially if the weather is not quite at its best

The large auditorium is excellent for concerts , musical gigs , and performing arts . The acoustics are great and it has a powerful sound system . The decor and the central ceiling is impressive . The building has a small cinema and bar . It has impressive architecture .
