Beautiful and relatively easy trail (but steep stairs which may be wet, so not for elderly, nor for unfit - and children should be supervised) in the woods along an incredible series of waterfalls. Strongly suggest to take the steps on the way back, not only for managing fatigue, but also because you will enjoy a better view of the waterfalls from above!). Perfect to visit in mid summer, when you'll appreciate the fresh misty breeze if the waterfalks the most! A couple of lodges for food (good!) and accomodation are available on the trail.

Pay attention as the bus does not run anymore on Tuesday between 9 and 15:00 as a “soft mobility” days. This forced us to walk one hour to the site with an exhausted kid. Some local vans and cars were despite that driving along the path.
Moreover they needed three buses to pick up the crowd back to the parking. So I really don’t see the environmental benefit.

Ok. I thought this might be the best spot to provide my experience hiking Madonna di Campiglio. Understand that there are literally hundreds of trails in this area. I came as an overweight 57 year old with sore knees but still thinking I am in decent shape and wanted to see everything. I do have no problem walking 10 to 15 miles in a day but just not up so I needed to plan my routes properly.
For the first day I took the Spiinale gondola up to Monte Spindale. It opens at 830. It is best to start early in the summer the rains if they come are mainly later in the day. I headed to the left off the gondola and started down the road. To the right trail 11 or 331 starts do not keep walking down the road. This route takes you by lago spinale. This is a nice pasture route that will give you great views and you might come across some Italian bell cows. You will find lots of cows on your hikes, you can’t miss them due to their bells . This trial leads to the Boch gondola lift restaurant, the change in elevation is minimal. From Bosh I followed the trail up to Rifugio Gfaffer that is about 200 m but actually pretty easy cause you are constantly looking at the views, From here I continued up to the top of the pass Passo de Groste. Another couple of hundred meters. If you look up to the top of Peitra Grande you will see some serious climbers. Ok so I now hit my maximum for climbing up. I now headed back to Rifugio Graffer for a soup and a beer. Sorry I forgot to mention. Even though I am a novice hiker I do carry a pack with Essentials. I carry 2.5 l of water in my camel pack., chocolates , apples, fruit bars, bonocoulars, rain suit , extra shirt plus heavier shirt , phone/ camera and hiking poles. I am sure some serious hikers can suggest more.
After my snack I took route 382. This takes you to the falls after an amazing 2 hour hike mainly down. I followed the falls trail all the way back into town. Total hike was close to 12 miles and 7 hours. I walk slow. You can simplify this trip by taking the Groste gondola all the way to the top and by taking the bus into town half way through the falls at Vallesinela.
I plan to also post my hikes to the tri laghi and the long way to Maghi Retort all with minimal hikes up.

The waterfalls are very beautiful in winter. To get there is much longer than in summer. There are no buses in winter and you have to walk about 4 km to get there. Beautiful nature and no people.

this is a very pretty trail going up through the cascades , crossing on bridges. you can either look at the cascades from down or hike up. i would hike up. bring good hiking shoes. it is slippery when wet and it is always wet.

Nice walk into the woods passing the waterfalls then stopping for a coffee at the Rifugio. Altogether we took 5 hours to walk from the hotel and back.

Concert arranged by cows ringing their bells was highlight of the week. We took the clockwise route from the village. Nice lunch at Rifugio Vallasinella
