Fantastic area with lots to do! Swimming in the lake, exploring the city, going to the top of the mountain in the cable-lift! There’s lots to do by the lake: Big playcround, a waterpark for the whole family, lot’s of different sports! You can spned several days here, and lots to do for the whole family!

I have seen many beautiful lakes in many countries in my life. This lake is also one of them. But one of its special things is that there is a lot of cleaning here. God's creations look better than the arrangement of cleanliness

Molveno is a spectacular lake set in the mountains high over Lake Garda. It may be a bit crowded in summer but once you have find a car park (not difficult in a paying park) you go on the lake side that is a mix of green lawn and course sand, with lots of tree shade and play activities. Then you can really relax and see the kids swimming or playing in a safe environment, or go for swimming or water sports. The temperature this high in the mountains was quite comfortable. Near the beach there are decent bathroom facilities (free, for a change) and some snacks. Around the lake there are a number of additional activities such as rope climbing for different ages, sky-lifts that take you up to a spectacular view of the peaks overlooking the lakes, etc. you can easily take two days, or use Molveno as the centre of your mountain holiday in northern Italy.

There is a great walk for all levels around Lake Molveno and you can also include the upper lake. The town of Molveno is a very charming town and the people are very friendly. A truly lovely area to visit, Irene

A lovely 12km walk around the outside of the lake with refreshnent breaks available at Molveno and about a 2km from the town. A good path, well signed, with only one steep section on the whole walk. Recommend taking a picnic

Very nice lake between mountains. Around the lake is small path, which is aprox 11 km long and you can make it in less than three hours. The water is very clean and around the lake you can find some interesting places, like powerlant tunnels and some old fortresses.

Second time in 4 years we've been here and we were quite shocked by the lack of water in the lake.
Last time we came in 2013 ( also in February), the lake looked very full and very beautiful to the eye with its unusual colour.
This time however, we walked from the car park, over the bridge and could not see any water, in fact I'd say the first bit of water was a good quarter of a mile from this point and the dry lake bed resembled the surface of the moon.
It has been like this for a while as there were small tents playing music all around the shoreline.
Saying that, the lake is still very impressive and covers a huge distance and it is a lovely place to sit and chill a while.
There is of course the obligatory gift shop and cafe if you wish to indulge, but you should really just walk past them both and wander down to near the lake and just sit.
The scenery around is spectacular with high mountains in all directions, but it is the lake people come to see.
Please leave and drive along the shore road to see this wander of nature in its entirety.

We are staying nearby for several weeks, and have visited Molveno three times already, we love it so much. This weekend we decided to stay overnight and even though it was a weekend and it was busy it was still so beautiful. We love the way the town is situated at one end and the rest of the lake is pretty much untouched. We also really appreciate that there are absolutely no fast or noisy boats or jet skis on the lake, so it is very tranquil. Yes there are a lot of people, but they are all families and older people having a good time together, so the atmosphere is really pleasant. On Saturday night there was live music in town and lots of people out enjoying it. There's a lot of room on the beaches and grass near the town and the water's a lovely temperature. And best of all you can take the cable car up the mountain, have a drink and/or a meal, then walk or cable car back down. Or you can take the chairlift up another level and do the same up there. Try it, you'll like it!

Much smaller than Garda, but very nice. Only a very short walk from shops and hotels. Fairly challenging walk (11 km right round), but pleasant lakeside picnic site and chidren's playground.
Only problem wind seems to get up and blow along the valley in the afternoons. local bus service from Trento
