    Most pleasant visit.
Had little idea what to expect; however the expectation soon became an enlightening surprise; a quirky character who lived in such a house with so many exhibits and a friendly, informative guide in each room enthusiastically poised to enlighten us on Charles Wade & his eclectic collection. The manor nestles in a tranquil, out of the way spot surrounded by a compass mile of open countryside. The well placed cafe, with friendly, efficient staff has a good selection of food and wonderful, panoramic views.

Interesting house, collections and lovely gardens
Interesting house, collections and lovely gardens. Very well maintained. Usual nice NT cafe with excellent scones and tea. A golf buggy is available to transport less able visitors from the car park to the manor if needed. It was clear from the information provided that Charles Wade inherited his wealth (and two slaves!) from parents who had plantations on St Kitts. Helpful staff and volunteers who explained the background and history to each collection.

    Hidden Gem!
Wonderfully eclectic place to visit. Definitely a hidden gem. Due to disabilities in our party today we had a lovely gentleman called James who volunteers on Sundays to drive the disability National Trust golf buggy, he was very kind, caring and took the time to ensure we were safe and comfortable throughout the rides to and from the manor house. He was very patient with my son who has ASD, with both chatting away as if they had always been friends. Also a shout out to the Retail Manager (I didnt catch her name) today for taking the time to talk to my daughter who has ASD/ADHD about the plants and the endangered bees that she saw around the gardens. This is a place we would visit again as there is lots we have missed due to the amount of items on display. We also enjoyed the hot drinks from the tearoom whilst watching the spring lambs bouncing around. This suited all the interests of all those in our party today.

    Not to be Missed
The house is full of items collected by Charles Wade, who gifted the house and contents to the National Trust. It's an amazing eclectic mix of items. The volunteers and staff are so knowledgeable and friendy. Outside, the gardens are lovely complete with a model village. There's also a lovely tea room.

Very unusual but really fascinating visitor experience
Snowshill Manor is probably the most unusual place we have ever visited as a family. It is difficult to do it justice really, but suffice to say the remarkably diverse range of items on display means there is really something for everyone to appreciate. Its history is truly fascinating and the beautiful gardens and excellent cafe facilities add to the excellence of the visitor experience.

    Fascinating house
A very interesting home that has to be seen to be understood. The National Trust have done a good job of keeping the home as-was. Lovely stroll between the house and gardens and the cafe (lovely Victoria Sponge) A good place to while away an hour or two. Not too far from Broadway.

    Interesting Afternoon
We enjoyed our visit to the house and gardens. There was a lot to take in through the house but it was fascinating to see all the things that had been collected. A good thing they have been kept together for the public to see and not dispersed to various places around the country. We were particularly impressed by the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. I am not registered disabled but I do have some mobility problems and need to walk with a walking stick. There were no parking slots available other than the empty disabled ones and the staff kindly allowed me to park there. Thank you so much.

    An Organized Magpie
This is one of the most unusual sites I have been to. In addition to beautiful gardens, the collection housed in the main building is the work of an unusual and eccentric man who acquired unique and interesting objects from around the world and displayed them in a building purchased specifically for that purpose while living in a smaller adjacent building. The place is dark, moody, and there are three floors of stairs. The owner specified that the objects remain unlabeled and unmoved.

    A QuIRKY visit!
Dark rooms...electricy was not trusted by the owner...steep steps and stairs and ahuge variety of quirky collections maķe for a fairly interesting visit bot not a very comfortable one for visitos with mobility issues. A useful buggy car helps with access from the car park. The sprawling but attractive golden stone buildings are more attrective and impressive externally but the grounds and gardens were not very exciting. Some items and collections would be ofgeneral interest but this is a quirky mix of one clever man's wide-ranging interests. We founf our visit quite fun but found nothing outstanding.

    Quirky & Unique
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this very unique and unusual National Trust property. There is so much to see and plenty of interested and knowledgeable staff who were only too pleased to answer our questions and talk about the extensive range of exhibits which were on display in the rooms. We found all staff to be pleasant and kind and parking wasn’t an issue at all. The gardens are lovely and peaceful. We’re so glad that we made the short detour to visit this fascinating place.

We have lifetime NT membership and wanted somewhere to take my elderly Dad for a day out. Although my wife and I were able to go into the site free, we had to pay in full for my Dad even though we made it clear that he only wanted to sit down in the coffee shop. To add insult to injury when we got to the cafe due to a combination of ‘lack of staff’ and ‘no deliveries’ the cafe had very little food available and the few available hot drinks were ‘served’ in paper cups.
Overall my Dad paid around £15 to sit on a cold bench with a tired sausage roll and a paper cup of tea while we rushed round the house.
Not good enough for an organisation with the resources of the NT.

We visited as a family with friends this last weekend (Sunday 7th November). Local friends who we visited told us it was worth seeing. A family ticket for two adults and two children cost over £21. It only covered the gardens, as the Manor House had to be pre-booked and to see both house and gardens presumably costs more.
The gardens are small and most of the shrubs and flowers were in autumnal mode, past their Summer glory. As such, it was a lot o money to see very little. The Trust should have reduced prices accordingly

Very well organised National Trust property. Manor House is small with a fascinating collection put together by Charles Padgett Wade. Cafe is very good. Only concern was that access to the Manor House is by timed ticket not bookable in advance. This is a part of the COVID response. Our entry to site was 11.30, so 1/2 hour after opening but our timed ticket for the house was not until 1.50pm meaning a long time to see the gardens before entry. We went into the village, a 5 minute walk away before returning for our slot. The Snowshill Arms looked very popular.

We really enjoyed our time here. Note you no longer reserve in advance and timed tickes are provided on a first come first serves basis so best to arrive early. It took us 10 minutes to walk (uphill) from the car park to the house whilst pushing a wheelchair. Inside the house is all about a very different collection of stuff the owner liked irespective of the price, each room had a different theme of collectibles. We spent 55 minutes in the house itself, then there are the gardens, given we were with a wheelchair we didn't stay long as quite hilly.

You can't really stay in Snowshill without going to the manor as you go past it every time you walk into the village (which is also worth a wander around, if you like quintessential Cotswold stone houses and a lovely church at its centre).

We'd visited Snowshill about them years ago, but had not been into the house, so we booked our timed ticket, arrived a bit late and trotted quickly up to the house to join the queue on time, entered the house 15 mins later with all the Covid protocols to observe!

Fascinating collection of bits and pieces by Charles Paget Wade who bought the house solely to store his eclectic mix of oriental cabinets, sextants, other scientific instruments, musical instruments including some of the most unusual 'harp guitars', inlaid and wooden boxes, swords, armour and a huge book, plus much more. Knowledgable room guides doing their best to keep visitors informed and moving at an appropriate pace through the house.

Across the small yard the tiny house where Wade lived (equally packed with more utilitarian bits and pieces) and the small, pretty gardens, the vegetable gardens and orchard all worth a visit.

It is about a 500m walk from the entrance to the house and gardens which takes approx. 10mins if you walk slowly. As we went quite late in the day the cafe had closed by the time we got there (which is 30 mins before the site closes at 5pm).

Even though the Manor and Priests house are closed due to the pandemic, Charles Wade’s house makes for a lovely visit. Pre-booking is essential.

We reached at lunch time and had a picnic in the orchard overlooking the hills. The cafe is open for outdoor seating and has a limited menu on offer.

The house and gardens are a short walk away and the quirky collection of Charles Wade is available to see, at least the ones in the multi layered garden. The model village, the 24 hour clock and the various quotes and poems by the owner are spread around this lovely small estate.

The kitchen garden really delightful. We spent just under 2 hours here but was certainly a worthwhile visit in the Cotswolds.

Quaint, quirky and eccentric! Only visited the gardens as the queue for the house was quoted as one hour wait - but had seen inside the house via George Clarke's brilliant TV series on NT properties.
Wonderful location high in the Cotswold hills. The gardens are very interesting and different with unexpected items and buildings. From the NT reception its a short walk (10 minutes?) to the house via a winding path - the golf caddy transport is not available due to Covid restrictions.
Excellent cafe/restaurant set away from the house but with stunning views and its own lovely garden.
Very relaxing and charming place - a pleasant change from boring Broadway and its expensive posh shops.

What was on display at Snowshill manor was really superb, a collection of hand crafted models and furniture in this old manor house, very well described by the NT volunteers inside the property. This was within some excellent, well tended gardens, very good indeed. However there was considerable disappointment in that the second floor was closed to visitors since the pandemic - it does say on the website it's closed so no surprise there. Also the website stated that the first floor may be closed as the NT don't have enough guides to attend the first floor, on our visit, it was indeed closed, also parts of the garden following a wet period so that the grass could recover. Charles Wade's model village workshop was also closed due to a wasps nest inside!
In addition, the café was running a very limited selection of food and drink due to "supply chain problems".
It seems a catalogue of problems is seriously limiting visitors experience of this site. A shame because a previous visit many years ago left a very warm inside feeling of a good visit, but at the moment, not so.

This was our second visit and only disappointment was that the top floor of the main house was closed, due to lack of volunteers to run it. But what was open was great, with very knowledgeable staff on hand. Lovely walk from car park to the main house and beautiful parklands around. Restaurant was very good as my husband has dairy allergy and couldnt eat the sandwiches all ready made up, so they very kindly made one up for him and the lady who did that was so friendly and helpful. Thank you. The gift shop is lovely and i bought myself a treat and 2 birthday presents for friends! All the volunteers/staff are just so helpful and chatty.

Tried to visit this in January 22 but found out it was then closed. So booked online to visit on 16th June 2022 instead. This Snowhill Manor House is packed with so many items collected over many years by its eccentric owner before he died. lighting is keep poorly done as it was a request from the owner before he offered it to the National Trust as he lived in the cottage and used the manor house to hold his collection on every space throughout the house.
We found this so interesting to see every space in every room packed with his collections. The cottage was also cluttered up making it difficult to see how he and his wife lived there at all. The gardens are very well designed and laid out both around the Manor house, cottage and out buildings as well as the pathway woodland area and farm land paths taken to reach the manor house.
Being members this was all free for us so we could spend as much time here as we wanted to taking many photos.
