I walked in off the street at 6pm on the off-chance that I would be able to try some wines. I was met by Martin himself, who spent a hour with me explaining his approach and the specifics of the wines shown. Martin is a charming man, who speaks quite enough english. His wines are good to very good, and are extremely good value. Most of the wines were from Kroev, just down the river, but he also has some from T-T (from a vineyard that he restored). He makes these wines himself, and aims to take the best from the old ways and the new ways. The wines are full of character, and are delightful. I bought some of the 2008 Kroev Paradies Spaetlese, a ripe, gentle and lightish wine. This was the second of five wines presented, and a real bargain. Martin runs old wine tastings in February, that would be a real treat. A visit is highly recommended if you have an interest in fine Mosel wines.

When we first arrived, we thought we were imposing. Being new to the German wine tasting experience, we were unaware that some owners work out of their actual homes, so when we walked in and we saw a sitting room to the right and were greeted with the family cat, we didn't know what to think. What resulted was a wonderful two-hour tasting of many (and I mean MANY) wines with the vintner's wife, who happily tasted along with us. We learned so much about the Mosel region of wines, about their process, and about their life. It has been one of my most enjoyable wine-tasting experiences I've ever had. (Also, when we told her we discovered the winery on TripAdvisor, she was genuinely shocked that people sat down to review the winery "on the computer.")

Visited with my family of 6 along with 2 German friends. The son (University educated in wine and wine making) lead us through 90+ minutes of wine-tasting while offering interesting insights into the influence of the grapes, soils, region, weather and harvest on the wine. They are a small producer using very traditional methods to produce their wine. The result are wonderful dry Rieslings. Their wines are well reviewed and acclaimed. Between us all we must have purchased over 10 cases. If you are in the area, highly recommend a visit. Reservations recommended.

I have visited Martin M a couple of tomes and I am always so impressed with his wines.
I have done tastings in the UK with top Sommeliers and they agree that his white and red wines are truly excellent. Also, they are very good value compared with wines from others in the area.
Highly recommend a visit.
