I met Mafalda and Mario one year ago. I made with them the AIDA 2, AIDA3, some boat trips and the apnea for waves course. I'm a professional photographer, with them I learned to freedive and how to photographer underwater. I was actually super scared before I started Freediving, of sharks, the darkness, the deep etc. But I had a dream: I wanted to get an underwater photographer and to make my master thesis in arts /photography about apnea. So, I choose to confront my fears. Mafalda and Mario taught me how to control my mind and body, to let loose and immerse into the wonderful underwater world. They supported my thesis and I developed four concepts in theoretical and practical way based on the technics of Freediving: Still Point, Mind Game, Focus and Liminality.
In one year I reached -25 meters on one breath, learned to photograph on -15 meters. We swam with dolphins in the sea and saw a huge basking shark from the boat and had super fun days in the ocean.
The surf training had a major effect as well. I learned how to stay calm in the ocean or after a wipeout and I feel much more comfortable in bigger waves since then. Last month I made my first small underwater film more hopefully coming soon :) Mafalda and Mario are super professional, super nice and the most calm persons I have met. They have many years of experience in teaching and educating in a really safe and calm way. I love to learn from them, dive with them and overpass my limits. Meeting them was really life changing experience!
Now it's just so much fun to dive, to surf and photograph the underwater world :)

The Aida 2 Freediving course was an awesome 3-day course. The first day consisted of just a few hours of freediving theory while the other two days were open-water sessions off the coast of Sesimbra. Mario, Mafalda and Renato (the professors) are super friendly, supportive and always ready to answer any questions you may have. I would highly recommend it for anyone who wants their first freediving experience or is looking to improve their freediving skills.

Just had an amazing chilled fun dive with Mario & team. I booked very last minute and Mario was always available to answer the many questions I had. On the day the water was choppy and cold. But what an experience! 'If you dive here, you can dive anywhere '. As just a Level 1 SSI I was apprehensive, but they made me feel very comfortable. At the end we even chased some dolphins who were flying all around us! Must do, if in Portugal and you are looking to freedive.

Great team!!!
If you are interested in expand your limits in freediving then they are the best you can find in Lisbon.
Flexible schedule during training courses, perfect spots for freediving, all the equipment you need for freediving and tight safety protocols are some of the reasons you should try a course.
I've done my AIDA 2** , and 3*** with them. After the courses you have also the possibility of weekend freediving trips in the beautiful sea of Sesimbra.

Spot Freedive - a friendly couple with knowledge and experience about freediving. They take a part in competitions and are referee's as well. I visited them to do Beginner Freediver course. It was a great experience and fun at the same time. I could descend down to 20m and I felt secure with them. After all there was some time to enjoy underwater views of Sesimbra coast by the rocks and caves. Really nice and hospitable people. I felt comfortable there all the time. Lucas and Eva

I came there very spontaneously and could my SSI Freediving Course at Level 2. they are the only Freediving School in Portugal.
Mario and Mafalda are very nice people with a good teaching hand. I have had several dives and made until 20 meters.
We checked several site near the coast of Sesimbra to dive, each one with its own characteristica. And wee saw some fish swarms.
Would like to make more courses with them, maybe in the Algarve where they sometimes offer courses, too.

I had a really nice day with Mafalda, Mário and their friends. As I just started doing some Freediving, they were more than a help for me and gave me great tips throughout the dive session. We had some good fun. On an additional small boat tour, which they offered me and my girlfriend beforehand, we were also able some of the surrounding. That was not only really enjoyable but also actually quite interesting, as all had some stories to tell about the area and Portugal itself.
In the end, we also got some great advices on which cities we have to travel to in Portugal, which were perfect for us.
Thanks a lot Mafalda and Mário, and of course Mário!
