after spending a couple of days in Sesimbra, we started to crave for some information about the area we were staying in as it was completely new for us.
we then were lucky to find these guys and have 2.5h of very chilled out and fascinating walking tour around the whole village. it was exactly what we needed - very informal way of showing us around, loads of interesting stories, tastings of local produce and a friendly atmosphere. Marcel and Débora are knowledgeable in history and are great story tellers!
would highly recommend!

If you are planning an holiday to Sesimbra, we totally recommend you to have one of the walking tours from Portugalska. Both Debora and Marcello are passionate and enthusiastic story tellers, who took us around all the sights of Sesimbra and know everything about these sights, history as well as current utilization. They speak fluent English and have plenty of tips for the rest of your holiday, for example visit a beautiful beach near Sesimbra. The diverse range of walking, their stories, sights, and local dishes brings an excellent variety to the tour. It has been written before, but Marcelo and Debora are indeed two of the kindest people we met in Portugal.

Met the guides Debora and Marcelo, two locals who clearly seem to love what their doing, for a walking tour around Sesimbra. They explained the history of this beautiful place, brought me around all the historical sights and gave a good insight to the fishing history of Sesimbra. They had a few curiosities to share and whole tour had a very relaxed pace to it. We stopped at a local bakery so I could taste the local popular pastry and at the end of this (2.5/3hr) tour they treated me to a glass of wine and some cheese from an area nearby. They also gave really good recommendations for restaurants. Well worth checking out their website for the other tours they offer, which I would have liked to do also, but I was running out of holiday time. I absolutely loved Sesimbra and will be back though... and def will be in touch with them to take part in another tour.

I decided to schedule a walking tour of Sesimbra on our first full day there, to familiarize ourselves with the town. We reserved the tour through Pexitos, and enjoyed a fine Sunday morning walking through some of the areas that tourists might otherwise miss, enjoying some strong Portuguese coffee, tarts, and a trip through the local fish & produce market, among other places. Concluding the tour was a nice wine & cheese spread.
We were so happy with this tour, that we then booked another Pexitos tour through the national park and the town of Setubal (including a fried cuttlefish lunch), during which we visited a traditional maker of Portuguese tiles and a cathedral with a great vista. The day concluded with a visit to the Sesimbra port, where we watched fishermen bringing in their catch and selling it at auction. It was all such a great experience.
Marcelo & Debora and their young tour guides were wonderful hosts, and Marcelo even gave me a good tip as to the best place in Sesimbra to watch the Champions League final match.
Highly recommended!

Thanks Marcello for this amazing day. There are no real words to describe this experience. A day full of surprises, fishes, colors, liquors in a friendly atmosphere. In few Marcello helps you to feel at home in Sesimbra. We didn't drink the magic water but for sure We will be back!

I went for the Hooked on Sesimbra, a half day tour from Lisbon to Sesimbra.

This tour is surely one the best and most personal tours I have ever attended. I had been walking around Lisbon for a week, been on one of those city tours, which told me something about statues and an earthquake, but I didn't really get it. This tour opened Portugal for me. We talked about everything Portugese - football, the culture of conversation, income levels, alcohol prices, all. And we talked about fish, which was the main theme of the tour. We watched the fishermen while they were unloading their catch in the dock, we followed the catch into the auction, which was the highlight of the tour. This world of fishermen, buyers and sellers..I have never seen anything like it. It was absolutely fascinating, and a totally unique experience which would not be possible without this tour. After the auction we went for a stroll through the village of Sesimbra, and after a week in Lisbon it was like massaging my provincial self - it was calm and beautiful. My only regret was that we had to get back to Lisbon without trying the local fish restaurant, serving all this fish I didn't know about before I went on this tour. As a consolation, Marcelo, the guide, took me to a small snackbar where I could taste the eggs of a strange sea animal called Cuttlefish, also a new one for me. It tasted great. This tour also opened a different perspective for me. Seeing all those different types of fish, in the dock and later on the menu outside the restaurant, made me realize that we have a lot to learn about using the resources in the ocean in a sustainsble manner. An important lesson, and fun.

The best way to get to know a town is through walking. When you get guides like Debora and Marcelo to walk you through the streets of the lovely Sesimbra, then you get the perfect combination! Besides the walking, the tastings that they provide are amazing. Their 2.5h Sesimbra waking tour is very informative. I definitely recommend!

Débora and Marcelo were great hosts. They really know the history and points of interest in Sesimbra. They showed us lots of interesting sights in this beautiful town that we would have not found on our own. Thanks for a great visit.

This tour is the perfect way to get to know this little town with so much history!! There is much more to Sesimbra than just the beaches and Marcelo And Débora really know everything there is to know! On the walking tour you get to see all the interesting points of Sesimbra and get a tasting of their local pastry (farinha torrada) and then end the tour with local wine and cheese. The tour guides are such positive people and they speak with a lot of passion about their town. I would highly recommend this tour to anymore visiting Sesimbra, they really know their stuff!

We recently did the SESIMBRA EXPERIENCE 2.0. It was wonderful, everything of it. Débora and Marcelo picked interesting things to tell. They told us a lot about the rich fishermans history and showed us several aspects of it. The auction was exciting. The same as all the aspects of this experience they had prepared for us. We enjoyed it very much, at the very top of trips! And loved the company as well. You should go and expercience it yourself!
