We have live in the area for nearly 10 years and hadn’t noticed the Quarterdeck. We put that right tonight having had fish and chips on the sea front. What a cracking little bar with loads of outdoor seating and a terrific vibe. I drank a lovely real ale called Exeter Bitter and my wife a cider named Orchard Pig. There was an art exhibition too. We will return again.

Visited here today for lunch, super friendly staff who appeared to be learning but no problem with that!

Yummy lunch from the special board, great value for money!
Saw some other meals go out that looked good including Moules! Other local fresh fish on their menu too.

We spied the Thai food truck in the car park and tried it out, the pub has stopped serving food now and relies on the Thai truck Wednesday to Sunday. All the staff I encountered were brilliant, very friendly and helpful, we bought drinks at the bar which we found very reasonably priced and sat outside to eat. The food was incredible, very authentic and you can see it being cooked, we went back a few days later for more as it was so good. Will 100% go back next time we are in the area.

I visit to this bar quite often, the staff here are amazing but from what I have witnessed the staff here are over worked and when this place is busy the owners just walk around doing nothing to help and make the staff do everything. Very sad to see all the locals are gone, used to have some amazing nights when they where here. I have also witnessed the owner treating the locals with less respect than the holiday makers and the guests of The Durbeyfield.

Used to be cheap place frequented by locals. New owners have got rid of the carpet, chairs are now small stools, prices have rocketed (up 50p pint since last year). No in-house food, Thai available from car park, (said to be fantastic). Only good thing were barmaids. Saw locals at The George who said they no longer went there _ What a shame we used to look forward to our Easter break here. I won't bother in future.

This tavern is small but nice. It has a mobile van in the courtyard which serves fantastic thai food. We have eaten there a few times and have never been disappointed.

Found this place by chance on a wet Sunday. Cosy lounge, great service and room to sit with the dog. We will be back.

The Quarterdeck has a small bar with a patio garden to the front, overlooking the car park. A border garden to the side with an interesting assortment of plants including several mints. Not sure on the closeness to the car park, (no danger) but still very pleasant to sit outside, especially with drinks at reasonable pricing compared to other hostelries in West Bay.

Very nice people. Nice locals . beer and cider great. food good too. Will be back next week. Have done all the pubs in west bay and this is the cheapest and most friendly of all. Palmers is good but this pub does not sell it and that is a good thing as all the other pubs in west do so we have good choice all round.
