The exterior is lovely in the pink color and looks Franciscan. Internally, it has some nice frescos but is otherwise a little plain. You need to purchase the ticket for the castle and use it to access here. Worth a look when you are at the castle.Visited February 2023Written March 29, 2023

Nothing special to be frank comparing to St. Vitus Cathedral
1. The architecture style of both of the buildings are different. One is Romanesque style and has a long history. St Vitus Cathedral is built in Gothic Style and has a shorter history.
2. Apart from both of these differences, there is nothing magnificent I can find from the church.
3. It is being renovated so it is not looking good from the outside too.

This is a small but interesting church. Much less ornate than most other churches in the area. The frescos on the ceiling of the alter at the front of the church are amazing. Here you will also find the tomb of St. Ludmila of Bohemia who was the grandmother of St. Wenceslas. Entry requires a ticket that also gets you in to several other amazing buildings on the castle grounds. It is worth the cost of the ticket for all these facilities.

Small, but peaceful. The oldest preserved church building at Prague Castle and the best preserved example of Romanesque architecture in Bohemia. Built around the year 920 by Prince Vratislav 1, rebuilt in the 12th century, it now has a Baroque façade from the 17th century. Includes the chapel of St. Ludmila, grandmother of St. Wenceslas and the first Czech Christian martyr.

A beautiful simple early Romanesque chapel built by the father of Good King Wenceslas. Worth viewing from the back where the tall simple towers are most obvious. The early Wenceslas chapel is beautiful too. In contrast the red Baroque facade seems an inappropriate addition

A not very large church, located behind the cathedral of St. Vitus. Extremely old, with a atypical interior architecture for a church. There are not many of the old paintings left on the walls. You don't need more than 20-30 minutes to visit it.

St. George’s Basilica is pretty to see. It has a different historical style to the gothic cathedral and is worth a look around if it is included in your castle ticket. Didn’t spend too much time here though. One of the less interesting parts of the castle I would say.

The Basilica of St George is one of the churches within the grounds of Prague Castle complex and is supposed to be one of the oldest. Obviously the church has undergone many changes over the centuries and the current Baroque facade only dates back to the 17th century. Because much of the church was destroyed in the intervening centuries, the church was rebuilt with the asme Baroque facade, but the interiors have been restored to the original Romanesque form.
The Romanesque interior is fairly austere and monumental at the same time. The tombs of members of the ruling Premyslid dynasty are situated in the main nave, including Prince Vratislav, father of St. Wenceslas (he’s buried somewhere else). There’s a two sided stairwell leading up to the high altar which was quite unusual.
Overall, I enjoyed visiting the church for it’s contrasting styles and unusual features. I think it’s worth a look if visiting Prague Castle.

Czy galeria w klasztorze jest wliczona w bilet do zamku trasa A? Czy może trzeba osobno zapłacić?

We are thinking of a concert at the Basilica also. But my question to you is: did you need to purchase a separate admission ticket to the castle complex also?? Or was just having your concert ticket enough?
Thankyou for any tips you might have!

A circuit B ticket is quite wholesome unless you want to go to the exhibitions. Circuit B is very well priced. 250czk per person or 500czk per family. It's very with it is you are the slightest bit interested in history. Good luck!

what's the suggested duration of visit? an hour? two hours?

The inside of the basilica may be simple but is as historically significant as it is architecturally significant considering that it is the oldest church building in Prague. That said, it should take you about half an hour to take in the inside of the church.
