Saw rhythm desperadoes one night and two of that band performing with other musicians the second time. Ace professional and dynamic musicians, lovely atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks. - Steven24 contributionsMy happy place!Love this place. This is about my 5th time at the jazz club. Love it. I travel to Prague with business and I always make sure to squeeze a night in here! If you want to forget about reality and immerse yourself in jazz, then this is the place for you. It’s also so cheap compared to the UK. This is our second time visiting Agharta and we still love it. We had been to a few other jazz bars in Prague but this turns out to be the best for us. It's just a couple of hundreds meters from Old Town Square and not too difficult to find. And the bar is actually situated in a cellar underground. There is an entrance fee of 250kruna per person but it's worth the performance from the live bands. The drinks are reasonably priced. Places fill up quickly so try to make it there before the performance starts at 9pm every night and ends around midnight/ What we really enjoyed was the Czech jazz bands that plays there. And they are some of the best jazz bands and musicians from Czech Rep. itself. This is highly recommended if you are looking for an intimate experience and to truly enjoy Czech jazz at its best.

We spent the evening at the 21:00 performance. We arrived two hours before the performance and bought the last tickets. If you plan to come buy tickets early.
Insode smoking is prphibited, but for some odd reaspn people smoke on the steps and in the tpilets. They only serve drinks and chips so don't come on an empty stomach. the performance was good although a bit too loud for such a small venue. My ears were ringing when I left.
Price was 300 local currency and drinks reasonably priced.
Bottom line - recommended!

Excellent musicians, nice cozy place! We had great time there. 300 czk is the price of entrance but the drinks are cheap.

We loved our night here. The house band were playing on our visit and they are certainly a very talented band. The venue is cosy, the staff friendly and it’s a great night out.

We visited here on our last night (2.12.19) and we had the most amazing time and experience.
The band that played were just simply "world class!" it was an amazing night and one which i would love to experience again.
we prebooked our tickets so we could pick our seats, which was easy and worked out at 8 euros each - bargain!
A real gem of a place - GO AND EXPERIENCE IT!

World class jazz in a very intimate venue. I think there were, perhaps, space for 50 people. Musicians started at 9pm and played for a couple of hours. We left at that point before they did their second set. The cover charge is modest - a bit under 9 GBP.

Wonderful way to end an eventful day in the beautiful city of Prague! The club is underground with an intimate setting. There is not a bad seat in the place. The staff was very friendly. The drinks were very reasonably priced. Cover charge was decent especially considering the drink prices and the level of entertainment. The 3 person jazz band was phenomenal! They were very energetic and loved what they were doing. It showed in their movement, facial expressions and most of all, the music! We even purchased a CD from the shop to enjoy at home. Excellent venue and excellent band! Definitely recommend AghaRTA Jazz Club when in Prague! A must do!

After a day of walking and soaking in the history of the amazing city of Prague, the AghaRTA Jazz Club was the perfect way to spend the evening. A cover charge of approximately $15.00 (Canadian) surprised us at first, but was well worth the price of admission. The venue is an underground tunnel/cave dating from the 1400s. It’s small enough to be intimate (no matter where you sit you are very close to the musicians) and the acoustics are good. The bar prices are extremely reasonable (perhaps even “cheap” by other jazz bar comparisons). The five players included keyboards + grand piano, bass guitar, saxophone, drums and specialized percussion - the musicians were clearly enjoying the set and the music was great!

The place welcomed us and I would say it made a big difference..it made our visit that day, very kind people running the place.
We have been to many jazz places and I can say this place plays great jazz! all band members play with passion!
The band make you feel at home, you can’t be in Prague and not having one evening at this place, a 14th century venue yeah it is a cool place where they play the music.
We visited this place with a 5 years old kid! As we had no choice, we are on vacation for few days in Prague. And Yes it wasn’t the best place for my kid to be as the music was too loud for him, I had to cover his ears from time to time, if you happen to be with kids try to book ahead of time at the back.
Just imagine.. my kids told me “I want to play jazz when I grow up” this is how good the music was :)

While not Jazz experts by any means, we thought this place was fabulous. The music was great the venue unique and the drink prices where some of the best in Prague. Well worth adding to your Prague visit!
