Really enjoyed my four hour culinary tour of the city on Sunday. Lots of tasty food to try and really opens your eyes to the historical significance of the city and it’s relationship with food. If you’re a gluten free, dairy free vegetarian then I don’t think this trip is for you. The tour guide, called Daniel (I think that was his name) was a gem of information to the point where it was difficult to take everything in. One minor point i would make is that as the tour started at 9:30 it would have great to start off with something for breakfast instead of cake but then again it was still lovely cake. I’d definitely do another of their tours if I returned to Budapest.

Thank you so much for a lovely review and pointing out Daniel's great input. Our cakes are not that heavy here (I just had some for breakfast ..lol!) but we take your feedback into consideration. Hope to be welcoming you again some day! Evi Faiola Reservation Manager

We have found a walking tour with food is a great way to find out and explore a new city. This trip exceeded our expectations, Esther our guide took us to 5 different locations all quite different starting in a wine cellar which is a part of the group. The wines there were varied and numerous and apart from walking tours there were 2 very happy wine groups sitting around. All the wines are Hungarian. Esther was very helpful with the tumultuous history of Hungary and a great communicator. The tour is not cheap but great value.

This was a truly special evening in Budapest. Andrew took our family of four on a memorable walk from a wine cellar to fabulous local restaurants to a wine bar, all the time educating us and entertaining us with stories of his hometown. I highly recommend a dinner walk with Taste Budapest during your visit!

Over a number of years, we have booked four wine country trips with this company and each one was memorable. The guides, the drivers, the coordination and the winery selections were all first rate. We also attended a wine tasting event at their main location in Budapest. Very informative and enjoyable. The management and their team are highly skilled at customer service and hospitality. We are looking forward to going back again soon!

We booked a private wine tasting tour and transfer from Vienna to Budapest. We customized our preferences and Taste Hungary was very accommodating. Stopped in Eisenhadt, Rust, and a small Hungarian town for lunch. The 3 course wine tasting meal as part of the tour was amazing. Angela our guide was very knowledgeable and my family is still talking about the Hungarian hospitality. For the price and added experience of transferring between Vienna and Budapest, we could not more highly recommend. Great way to learn about the burgeoning and diverse Hungarian wine industry!

My husband and I enjoy learning about the wine in each country we visit. We didn't have time for a wine tour or day trip out of Budapest, but found this tasting that fit with our schedule. Jon was a delightfully informative host/guide and the wines and charcuterie board offerings were very tasty. A great introduction to Hungarian wine!

Taste Hungary is FANTASTIC! If it were possible to give them more than five stars, I would. In the interest of making this review as useful to you as possible, I'll admit, (i) I could definitely be classified as an avid "foodie"; (ii) I avoid "touristy" tours at all nearly costs; and (iii) I rarely feel strongly enough about anything to bother writing a review. However, Gabor and Carolyn of Taste Hungary are super knowledgeable gourmets with impeccable taste, and it's not an exaggeration to say you would be utterly remiss to plan a trip to Budapest or Hungary that didn't include their expertise.

Gabor put together an absolutely epic wine tasting for us at their charming tasting room in the Palace District, and Carolyn's accompanying charcuterie board was phenomenal. On top of that, Gabor is exceptionally charismatic and personable. It truly felt like spending the evening with a long-time friend who just happens to be a sommelier with a passion for Hungarian wine! Our experience with Taste Hungary could not have been more perfect, and the next time we visit, we're planning to spend far more time with Gabor and Carolyn.

*Note, if you happen to be familiar with the legendary Zingerman's food/restaurant empire in Ann Arbor, Michigan, it should carry additional weight to know that Taste Hungary is the only Hungarian tour company the Zingerman's group uses for their carefully-curated, high-end international food tours — with very good reason.

In short, book anything and everything with Taste Hungary. I promise you will not be disappointed.

We signed up for a small group walking tour, but it ended up only four of us with our wonderful guide, Lilla. We started with wine tasting and charcuterie at their headquarters, while Lilla gave us an overview of Hungarian history and regions in Hungary, particularly as it related to wine production and farming. We thoroughly enjoyed all of it. We then went walking through Budapest and sampled local spirits, local creative goulash, local dinner food, and a wonderful café with classic Hungarian desserts and music. Lilla was incredibly knowledgeable and so interesting to listen to. She mixed history of foods, people and cultures effortlessly and we ate it all up. We all came away from that tour thoroughly, delighted that we had started our time in Budapest with this tour and with Lilla. We can’t recommend it highly enough. Thank you!

A very informative, relaxed and enjoyable food tour. Barbara was an excellent guide and so easy to get on with - fluent English helped us with no knowledge of Hungarian ! I would recommend this tour if you want to know about Hungarian food, culture and history 👍👍

Our Guide, Endre, was very welcoming and kept us engaged for the next 4 hours. We got to taste local street food, cured meats, and pickles at the Great Market Hall. Then a drink at a local cafe, more local foods at a “comfort food” restaurant, followed by delicious cakes and coffee at a lovely cafe. All the while, our guide educated us about the food, culture and history of Budapest. We ended the tour with a Hungarian wine tasting. Highly recommend.
