It is not a tourist place (yet). Nothing special: for 6900HUF you have a small Sauna and a small pool that you will have to fill. It will not be a clean place, nothing fancy, but it works like a charm aaaaand....

You can do anything. Dark place, unsuited for a romantic Instagram picture? Bring candles! Want more relax? Bring massage oil! You want to use shampo, or other stuff like a bath-bomb? You can!

This kind of freedom is rare for a "private spa" and it is not expensive. If you now how to handle this, it's gonna be a gem

We have very fond memories of Kiraly Thermal Baths, especially as we are both students. The place is rustic and very “native”. That was exactly what we were looking for. The very generous student discount (only 2000 ft) makes this place unbeatable. Remember to take your own towel and flip flops! The age mix at the place (we went four times!) was superb. About 50% were students / people under 30 and around 30% were people over 60 - a nice rainbow of ages. Everyone, including all the staff, were very talkative, friendly and helpful.

Went here on a Sunday afternoon and though having been before at this time and sometimes had to queue this was the longest I had ever had to wait - well over half an hour and the queue was right along the pavement outside.

Always gone after dark in winter and finally got to have some time in the outdoor hot tub though the water in it could be a little hotter especially when it's freezing outside. Also discovered an indoor jacuzzi. But again, you wouldn't fit very many people in it.

Initial looks are that this place looks a bit run down and unloved. Some may call it character but it was perhaps a bit beyond that.

Signage to the baths and changing rooms weren't great and the receptionist didn't really give us much help with what to do or where to go.

It wasn't too busy in the morning which helped. If you leave before 12, you also get your deposit back so it's worth getting up a bit early to start the day off with a relaxing dip.

I wouldn't recommend for a group of 10+ just turning up as it's not that big (with everyone else there).

A good place, for a Sunday evening though it had 30 minutes queue.
The cabins are clean, the water has a variety when you enter the polls when it comes to temperatures.
Small sauna with 2 different temperatures to choose.
Kinda smelly though but it's logical!
You don't need a cap.
Bring your own towel and pair of flip flops or else you have to pay a lot.
Also bring your swimsuit!
We had a good and relaxing time for 1 hour and a half.

Nice place to fell like going back in time... Hot water pools inside and a hot tube for 6 people outdoor in the backyard. Price is half than the other thermal baths in Budapest.

Didn't want to go to the touristy one, so this one was ideal. Also you get a partial refund if only stay for the morning ( for that get the morning ticket). It ended up being about A$8 for a dip as i had no intention to stay the whole day. Rustic, authentic, i think about 500 years old.Had a choice of locker or cabin to store belonging and to change. Staff pretty helpful.

If you are gay, this is heaven. It is like a real Roman bath and people are very friendly with each other. If you are offended by presence of other gays or being propositioned by them, this is not the place but it is absolutely wonderful for me since I got several guys giving me massages (not sex) but making me feel great. I did the favor in return and it turned out to be wonderful experience for all. Enjoy

We walked a long way to get to Kiraly Baths. NO tourist information or website explained that the baths are now mixed EVERY day and as we didn't have 'swimmers' with us...we couldn't go in. It appears that 'male only' days are now a thing of the past at Kiraly - thankfully the Rudas baths have men-only days and we had a wonderful experience there, with excellent massage

Kiraly Baths were a big dissapointment. The premises are a complete wreck, with no investments being made there since the 60s or 70s, judging the ancient locker cabins and everything else inside the bath. I went there on a day when only men were allowed to get in and it seemed that most of them were there just to find a casual sex partner. Disgusting and promiscuous, since there are special saunas for that, where you expect to see only that kind of people. The massage I paid for (2000 HUF/8 Euros) was more a caress of my skin than a relaxation of my muscles; I was tempted to get off the massage table in the middle of the "massage" and ask the guy to spare his efforts for the next in line to get the fake massage...
All in all, the place made me the impression of an old, creepy, dirty bath, living from its supposed glorious past, nowhere to be found nowadays, unfortunately.
