We bought online tickets few weeks before the visit. First time we tried to enter during late afternoon hours. The waiting line was huge. We waited for aprox. 45 minutes. When we then was the next to enter, a young girl who is employed there told us they will not let anybody more inside, and locked the door in front of us and the rest of the waiting crowd. I knocked, she opened, and I told her that we bought the tickets online before few weeks, and that we are in Budapest just for short time, but she again locked the door. We tried next day again, and again the same story, a huge waiting line in front of the entrance door.

We are really sorry you had a negative experience, apologies for the inconvenience! On the weekends we have a huge amount of visitors due to the fast approach of the closing date (31st of March). We only have one cash register which works on a first come, first served basis. Online bought tickets do not entitle anyone for priority entrance. The waiting time varies between 30-90 minutes, because once somebody entered there's no time limit, meaning they can stay as long as they want. Safety precautions regulate the amount of people allowed to enter at the same time, so when there are 225 visitors inside we can't let anyone in until somebody leaves. The capacity of our cloakroom is limited as well. If they closed the door in front of you, it must have been because we had a full house already. Once again, we apologize for the negative experiences! Best regards, the MINIVERSUM team

Miniversum art is very nice for kids and for people who love trains .Most of the miniatures are trains, railways and stations. It has alao some towns in miniatures but most of them are trains. Good to spend an hour or two with your kids.Ticket is a bit expensive at 3600Huf almost 11e ! Keep in mind that is not so big as you wish for.You can see everything in a half an hour if you want.

As a place was great, very nice work being done. The girl at the counter was extremely rude to everyone and when it was 17:55 she didn’t even let us put our coats and scarfs on as it was snowing outside. She closed the lights and started yelling that she wants to leave!!!!!!!! We all went outside while it was snowing to get dressed!!!! I feel disappointed from the lack of professionalism.

Dear Qbrain Q, We are really sorry that you had to experience this. We will definitely talk with our colleague, and we will investigate how this could happen. We admit this is not the way how she should have act. We really hope you will never go through anything like this here in the future. In spite of this we hope you enjoyed your visit and you liked our miniature world. Best regards, Ágnes

This place has lots of miniature cities laid out from different countries, with a number of buttons for kids (small and big) to press and make things happen - such as helicopters flying (in a circle), chickens pecking etc. There are a few quirky items, such as a UFO landing, the Delorean from Back to the Future, and a gentleman emerging from an outhouse... all in good taste. There are trains, trucks, cars and vans moving everywhere, all easily viewed even by small visitors, thanks to a well-planned viewing step which runs through the whole exhibit.

The walls contain a photographic exhibit of life during Communist times. I found this fascinating - it had a lot of information I had previously known, but had also forgotten about, such as the fact Hungary served as a meeting place for German families from East and West who were divided by the Iron Curtain. It's worth spending a little extra time to read these panels, as they do offer a glimpse into what it was really like to live in the Eastern bloc.

Dear Skitalets777, Thank you very much for the nice words! What I really liked about your review that you could recognise the good taste. The guys who built up this miniature world are very creative when it comes to jokes or easter eggs, but in a good taste, as you said. We shouldn't take life too seriously, and that's what we try to present here :) With kind regards, Ágnes

Didn't come with high hopes, but this is really a cool place to spend an hour in. The attention to details here is nothing short of amazing, and the trains, cars - and other hidden objects actually move!
The only downside is that this place is really small.

Dear Yafit T, Althoug you had low hopes we are very happy that we could suprise you with what we have here. It usually happens to other visitors also, so we are used to it now :) As it's in its name Miniversum is mini - tiny, but only the citizens of the layout. I wouldn't say the exhibition is small, moreover it has the perfect size. The more of it would be boring, and would take even more time to check out, and usually people don't have that much time nowadays. 1-2 hours is just enough :) Anyways, thank you for your summary and the great scores. With kind regards, Ágnes

For big and small, an amazing indoor activity. So much effort put in these detailed models. Even in the characters of people if you pay close attention. Some stops show the real picture that you can compare with. My child (5 y) and myself where so happy to have been here. Will go again ....

Miniversum is a superb idea: a realistic model railway museum with fantastically thought out scenes that captivate and enchant. A delight for children and adults alike, the smooth motion of the trains really brings the detail in the scenes to life, and the child-like wonder on visitors' faces shows the value of the experience. There's also a convenient café making it ideal as a lunchtime stop on a stroll down into town from Heroes Square. Highly recommended!

Although only 7 days since it opened, we had a great experience. My 4 year old son and I both had an equally fun time enjoying this train utopia for over 2.5 hours. Although you can walk through the exhibit in 15 minutes, you are not doing it justice. You should stop and marvel at the amazingly intricate details and hidden secrets in this incredibly realistic recreations of various real places (at least one hour). Take a break in the café and then spend the real time allowing your child or you (I admit I participated), in building your own tracks and playing with real models.
I am not a train aficionado, however my son and I spent over 1.5 hours playing with trains. One tip: read the brochure and learn the code for pressing buttons throughout the exhibit so that you can make things light up, move or make sound. Enjoy!

We spend a couple of hours here, which were enjoyable but definitely not a must while in Budapest. The miniature models are nicely done and well maintained, and there are some good explanations on the walls about the comunist era.
