This is fun for everyone! Also for them who often do offroad, driving through old military base and its forest, driving full throttle trough mud or doing donuts in the sand ..its so much fun. You also can enjoy beautiful landscapes and interesting places like an little city made up in Western style, where we made our break.
The buggys have enough power in acceleration to drift when you turn, so it's for the faster one's, too.
First I was a bit sceptic because of the price but don't worry, you will see it will be worth it ! Enjoy

This was one of the tours our family of four was most excited about in our 10 day cruise. The thought of a buggy tour through Zadar appealed to our adventurous side and was a nice break from the more traditional tours we had done the rest of our trip. It was in the middle of the day, so we had planned around this one tour. Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to do the tour.

The tour company, which is a small tent at the end of a small pier, requires that one leave their passport with them while on the tour. We explained to them that we were not comfortable with this as it is never a good idea for anyone traveling abroad to leave their physical passport with someone, much less a couple of young men at no real physical place of business. An older gentleman, who I can assume to be the owner, told us the reason for this is in case something happens to the buggy. In other words, it's the tour company's way of holding your passport ransom if they deem there is damage to their buggy and one doesn't pay!

We understand that a company needs to protect themselves against damages caused by someone's negligence, but as we told them one does this by leaving a deposit or credit card authorization not by holding one's passport hostage. We offered to leave our credit card and even our license, but he remained insistent on the passport. The gentleman said he understands but he doesn't have a credit card machine or paperwork to do that. Unfortunately that's the tour company's problem to correct not the tourist.

His final logic was that we should feel secure in leaving our passports with them as this was in Europe and not in some other country like Bolivia or other places around there. Again, completely unacceptable logic.

We felt compelled to write this review although it's no reflection on the actual quality of the tour itself. We wasted our day planning around this and then being asked for something that we feel was quite unreasonable. Although they asked us to bring our passports with us in their confirmation email, at no point did they say we needed to leave it with them nor does it say it on their website. A little more disclosure would have gone a long way towards saving everybody time and frustration.

We booked three months in advance. When we got there it was closed. We phoned the owner who nonchalant told us they where closed because of a party. They didn't call or email to cancel our reservation and so they wasted the entire day for eight pebbles.

Our tour was confirmed the week before but they seemed unaware we were coming. They did do the tour regardless.

Our tour guide was completely disinterested (bored in his own words) with the whole event but did give us some interesting information when he wasn't smoking.

We did get to see parts of the peninsula that we wouldn't otherwise have been able or known to see.

Driving the buggy was fun. Wear dirty clothes, we got very dusty.

We had quite a ride on the Buggy Safari - 2 1/2 hours through city roads, highways, dirt and gravel roads, beach, and mud. The guide was great. Be prepared to become covered in dirt from head to toe. They provide goggles and a sleeve to wear over your nose and mouth which are imperative. Very fun way to city the city and surrounding areas. Be prepared to pay in Kuna cash.

Today we did the "Adventure"-Tour for 1900kn which we found first was an expensive price. At the end we think it was definitly worth it though. After a few instructions we started our tour around Zadar. We drove about 90 km and about 3.5 hours. The whole tour with different stops and a mechanical damage where the buggy had to be replaced was about 5 hours. You'll drive mostly on offroad pistes (asphalt only for sightseeing reasons or to get to the next offroad part). And you'll get really dirty! We suggest bringing spare clothing or planning time for a shower ;) We really enjoyed this day out around Zadar and can defenitly recommend this tour operator!

If you're visiting Zadar make this activity one of your top priorities. We had a really good time and enjoyed the driveing the site we visited and the explanation by our guide. The whole trip takes 2.5 hours and the price they for this activity is fair.
