This is my second trip with E &R in Essaouira, and it lived up to the excellent experience of the first one. Eduard was again my guide (do be aware that he is Frend-speaking, with some English -- Eng lang guide is available also). I again found him to be very good and well-informed company, on plants and birds as well as on culture and agriculture and forestry. This is a very beautiful route with superb Atlantic views, and the birds were quite good also. It is fairly demanding at about 12km before a good, simple lunch in SK, but taken at a fairly easy pace. I opted out of the 5km walk back to the car and Eduard kindly came back to pick me up. Well worth doing

We did this tour in April 2017. Great hike tour and excellent guide. It was great to see the nature and landscape of Morocco with a local guide. The top of the trip was to get tea and bread at the end of the trip on a farm and also very interested to see the women make argan oil. Thousand thanks for us.

These goats are there just for looks, they do work. Traditionally, the goats contribute to the production of argan oil. Argan fruits were eaten by the goats and then pooped out to be cracked open and the oil squeezed out of the seeds. The oil is used in cosmetics or food. Now, in most places, the goats have been replaced by the local women, who (thankfully!) instead of eating and pooping them out, just crack the shell and take the seed out by hand.

We went on two tours, a half-day walk to a waterfall along the beach and past the argon trees, and then a few days later, the bird-watching tour. Both were led by Ottmane, who speaks English and French. He is an excellent guide, very informative, friendly and good with different members of the groups including a couple of young boys who came with us to the waterfall. For me, these two walks were the highlight of our time in Essaouira and I count taking my shoes off and walking in the sand dunes by the ocean as the top moment, even in amongst all the carpet and pottery buying. Highly recommended.

Just had a lovely experience (only 4 of us) with Edouard who is both very knowledgeable and fun about anything to do with trees, birds, the old sucrerie and Moroccan life in general. Traditional tea with Hassan was a nice break from the heat. I have been to several argan oil coop before here there no pressure to buy. I strongly recommend these treks.

My husband and I enjoyed a long half-day tour of nearby countryside, Argan plantation, village, and Berber household. We booked the tour the afternoon before through Restaurant la Decouvertes --they were very accommodating and easy to work with. Our guide, Ottmane, was great! Very informative and fun. Glad we did the tour!

Lovely half day walk with knowledgeable, English-speaking guide. Ottman was punctual (recommend the 8 am start), good humored and generous with his time. It was a treat to receive an email with photos of the identified birds after we returned home. Definitely recommend!!

Booking my trip was easy and the excursion itself was great. I did the beach walk / waterfall / Berber homestead. Beautiful deserted beach, small group, excellent guide. The wild flower meadows were a lovely surprise and the herd of goats thundering down the hill and onto the beach made us all laugh.

I did the half-day walk to Sidi M'bark waterfalls, leaving at 9am and returning at 1:30pm, for a really reasonable price that included transport, water and tea and snacks at a Berber house close to the coast. The countryside around Essaouira is much greener than expected, and there are lots of wildflowers in early spring. My guide, Ottmane, is a geology graduate and Essaouira native with great local knowledge, brilliant English, and a fun and friendly spirit. He made my last day in Morocco one to remember. We explored great swathes of deserted coastline, argan groves and farmlands, and the cascades and sand dunes close to the beach. The argan oil, homemade peanut butter, honey, freshly-baked bread and mint tea at the Berber house were the perfect way to refuel for a trek uphill for our return journey. Highly recommended!
