This outdoor museum is a great collection of about 80 pieces of rolling stock, passenger cars, engines, and even cars with artillery and a ballistic missile (see photo)! Cost is 120 Rubles (about $4)/adult. The captions are in English and Russian. The Russians must find it very interesting as well, because we saw a wedding party there. The bride and groom had climbed up on the front of an engine and were having their photo taken.
The site is all on the level, therefore wheelchair accessible. There are toilets, also a few benches but no shelter from sun or rain. No gift shop or food for sale.
The museum is a little hard to find. Take the metro to Baltiskaya station. The museum is 400 yds away behind the old Warsaw (Varshavsky) Railway Station (address is Naberezhnaya Obvodnovo Kanala 118).

This is probably one of the best, if not the best, railway museums in Russia. There is really much to see. I reserved 3 hours for the museum, but spent there almost 4 hours. Of course you can run through it, but if you want to get a good look at everything, you need to reserve 4-5 hours. Of course there is the railway missile carriage, but there are a lot of other interesting railway historical trains and locomotives too, and not all of them are even Russian. It's a pity that you can't go inside the trains, but still you can see a lot. The museum is also relatively cheap.

If you are into trains, then this place is for you!!!!
Great collection of steam locomotives, diesel locomotives and other bits of railway artifacts. Most items have English language display cards.
Key exhibits for me was the Soviet era mobile missile train and the WWII era railway canon.
For railfans and maybe non-railfans might find it interesting too!
A great way to end the Trans Siberian railway adventure!

I really liked this place, it is basically a giant collection of Russian trains throughout the ages housed on the platforms of an old train station. The highlight is the missile train which is setup in launch position, ready to send an intercontinental missile off round the world.

Nice an huge collection of trains, no model stuff, just real size and shape.
The trains is i different condition, some bad other ok, but they had alle done there service on the tracks so to speak.
One drawback, you cant get inside the trains (maybe possible on a guided tour?)
There should be a subdevision og the place in the south of the town with much more trains, I have to look future.

Говорят, что музей закрыт. Это так? Он закрыт навсегда или просто передислоцируется?
