Sounding proud on the entrance to the bridge these fine statues stand guard for the bridge. Fine example.

Another interesting bridge that we crossed was the Egyptian Bridge. It was St. Petersburg's first metal bridge, and one of eight chain suspension bridges erected in the city in the 1820s. The original bridge collapsed in 1905, and was not replaced until 1955. Fortunately, Pavel Sokolov's four fine cast iron sphinxes were unharmed, and still guard the approaches to the bridge. Free

Went on the city tour boat, worst tour I have ever been on in my life, and I have done quite a few this last few weeks, we were in oslo,Sweden, Denmark and helsinki and everyone was super friendly, came to St. Petersburg and abit different 😣never got given headphones and the ones on the table didn't work, first boat we were given headphones in English, but it was so difficult to hear because the annoying woman was on a mic talking so loudly in Russian, second time on boat, we played cards as we weren't offered headphones and there was no one to ask, if you are not Russian I would avoid this tour, it has a British flag, to make you think it is in English but it's not, and it wasn't particularly cheap

St Petersburg has some interesting and unusual bridges to check out. This one is called the Egyptian Bridge because it has sphinxes and obelisks to decorate it. It's nice enough for a quick look as you walk past but probably not worth going out of your way to visit.

St Petersburg, built up on marshes and rivulets; an amazing city with numerous bridges. This Egyptian Bridge is just one of these numerous bridges on the Fontanka River Embankment
