The museum is only small but has some really nice displays. From dinosaurs, to Portuguese life, it was well presented. It's worth a visit if you are in Lourinha.

It's cheap to get in at only 4 euro an adult, and 2 for kids. Dinosaur stuff is interesting seeing as they are native to Lourinha. There are some decent fossils excavated locally. The rest of the museum was a bit naff. We managed to kill an hour there with 2 kids but it's not the best effort. Might have been more interesting if I had not dragged 2 young kids around it who I had to constantly tell not to touch anything.

The Museum has a highly dedicated small number os scientists, paleontologists and it has been providing a great service to the community of Lourinhã and to Portugal.

We visited the museum primarily for the dinosaur relics. Unfortunately, all of the museum's nicest dinosaur objects have been moved to the new dinosaur parc outside the town, leaving little of interest. No longer worth the 4€ if you are interested in the dinosaur objects.

This was a wonderful surprise! I found out about this museum after going to Pavilhão do Conhecimento in Lisbon, and seeing a dinossaur exhibit with some exclusive dinos. At Museu da Lourinhã you can find several areas. You have a very interesting room about the evolution of crafts, and you can also find an old cottage outside where you can get a glimpse of how people lived about 100 years ago.
The best part of this museum is, of course, the dinossaur area. You have several dinos discovered exclusively in Portugal, like the Dinheirosaurus Lourinhanensis. In the end you get to see a paleontology lab with scientists working live!!!
It is a very small museum, but surprisingly interesting!
The tickets are cheap, plus you have a discount if you are a teacher.
Have fun and enjoy with family, friends or alone.

You need to pay to enter this museum which is located in the town. There is much to see and a lot of the material comprises of posters and photos with very few actual relics and exhibits

Lourinhã is one of world important sites for dinosaurs, with some specimens only found here in the region of Lourinhã and Atalaia.
The museum offers a nice tour around this spectacular fact, in a small scale, but with a high level of scientific rigor. To visit!

Very nice museum. Kids loved it. Apart from the dinosaurs also has some items on agriculture and local ways of living in the past.

Very nice people, with Carla Abreu explaining all in detail, despite we had passed the guided tour time.
