This beautifully maintained Church owes its origins to the Anglo-Saxon building of AD695, a doorway of which still remains and is enhanced by a clear glass panel looking out over the churchyard.
Other features include the collection of 13th century Stone Coffin Lids, and the smiling sculptured figure of Robert Strange, Squire of the Parish, who died in 1654. The Stained Glass Windows include 2 recent pieces - a quatrefoil of seasonal flowers surrounding a Remembrance Poppy, installed in 1996; and a display of national flowers around a Royal Crown, marking the Queen's Diamond Jubilee (2012).
There is ample parking to the side of the Church. There is a very well informed tour leaflet (only £0.40) and a postcard with a pen & ink drawing of the Church by the Hungarian Artist, Csaba Sajo, who lives in the Village.
The actual Village is well worth strolling through, spotting various important and impressive buildings such as The Dower House, The Manor House and Vicarage. Also the local pub, The Bakers Arms - a Free House - is very enjoyable.

There are a few clear signposts to direct you to this smart village church five miles south of Cirencester. It is located next to a manor house and the walk from the lych gate to the entrance is a delight. Flowers and old graves abound.
Entrance is via a porch and a large wooden door. Inside the church is in two parts, divided by two stones arches and there are two columns of wooden pews. On the walls are a wooden W.W. 2 war memorial and a stunning stone memorial to those lost in the Great War.
The glass in the many windows are both clear and coloured, but the best is the clear, tall one opposite the entrance which is where the old entrance to the original Saxon church was located. It affords clear views out to the churchyard and allows light to flood into the church.
Regrettably those old Victorians got away with tiling the floor ...urgh, but it is a lovely church to visit and there is a large car park next to it. Recommended.

What a stunning church, so beautiful to look at. Unfortunately during our visit there was a service already in progress which we didn’t want to interrupt. We had a walk around the outside and took a few photos but I’d have loved to have gone inside

The old Saxon door and excellent war memorial add to the splendour of this wonderful rural church. The pathway to it is also a delight and in the spring the grass either side is ablaze with small flowers.
