Outrageously pretty

What a hidden gem! It's surprising how few English-language reviews there are of the lovely Bagno Vignoni as you would have to be a hard man (or woman) for this attraction not to bring a smile to your face, The large spa-pool around which the tiny hamlet is focused was built by the Medici in its current form, although it must be older as St Catherine is claimed to have taken the waters here. There's little else here except a few cafes and houses and a modern spa hotel. But look at the photographs of this place and if you are anywhere near you will want to visit to perambulate around the pool and sit in the sun with a coffee and a pastry. An absolutely delightful spot. We did as part of a circle drive of Montalcino, Abbazia di Sant'Antimo and Bagno Vignoni which created a brilliant day.

Beautiful
2019. júl.
A historic town where the thermas were built by the Medici. Beautiful, serene setting. Many places to eat or enjoy a coffee with a few nice spots to shop. This town is surprisingly small, consisting only of a few houses, surrounded by farmland. Still, very beautiful.

Main square with a giant hot springs pool

Very interesting city to visit for a short time period to see the pool and stroll through town to the cliffs where the water flows over. Medieval mills and cisterns along the walk.

Thermal springs pool in the middle of the piazza
2018. ápr. • Romantikus
Piazza delle Sorgenti is not your average central piazza of a pretty Tuscan village. Its focal point is a big thermal springs pool right in the middle surrounded by very old atmospheric houses with cafes, restaurants, artisan shops, little Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista, lovely portico, St.Catherine’s porch... Charming place!

Pretty spot, Unusual place

Hot springs at the top of the hill no longer available to the public, but here for thousands of years. There is a little chapel to one side. With plenty of cafés and restaurants and hotels in the immediate vicinity

It is all the same place just keep walking towards the hills
2016. júl. • Romantikus
Plaza delle Sorgenti, Bagno Vignoni and the Mullini is all in the same place. I was confused by the posts on this. The town is tiny with shops around the pool in the main plaza, which is the pool instead of a plaza. Then you walk towards the hills away from the town and you will find the old mill and the hot water little pools going towards it. If you keep waling down for a bit on a road on the side, you will come to a blue pool you can get into. There is also the river where you can walk in the blue water. Not spectacular as Foso Bianco, but a nice stop on the way.

Unusual water filled Piazza ...
2015. jún. • Romantikus
It's certainly not the typical Italian piazza because it's water filled, instead of a cobblestone surface. Seems to be from a thermal bath source and bubbles are seen in the huge pool. It makes for a restful and pleasant scene when in town. Part of the enjoyment of San Quirici D'Orcia. ...
