Lovely old church with lots of charm open to the public for free. Beautiful stained glass windows and memoriams inside.

The graveyard headstones can do with some maintennance, if they are leaning it is their practice to tip them over sometimes on the writing. The responsability of the family to fix them trouble is there may not be a family and a historic headstone remains wrong side up tipped over.
I am told they are not a poor parrish surely for historical preservation something better could be done

This church is tucked in behind some picturesque cottages and has a neat, tidy churchyard. I was pleased to find the door unlocked so that I could see the real gems of this church; the box pews, the three-decker pulpit and the absolutely splendid double monument to Sir Samuel Sandys and Sir Edward Sandys, both of whom died in 1626. This church is a "must" for all lovers of church architecture.

This lovely old Church has links to George Washington's family.
It is worth a visit and is open all year, free of charge, and has a feel of freedom and relaxation.
The whole place and garden is well keep and worth a visit.
Just off the main road between Broadway and Evesham.

You must visit this beautiful village church, which has a wealth of history. Wickhamford is the village in between Evesham and Broadway. The church is off the sharp corner as you head from Wickhamford towards Badsey. There are chocolate box thatched cottages on the way to see and the church is next to the Manor House. I was christened, confirmed and married in this church, which is just stunning.

Visitors from varied settings, visit Saint John's, including particularly Americans for the Washington family connection via his grandfather Colonel Henry Washington, his widow and cousin Penelope, buried here. Interestingly enough, the family crest seen here includes an explore for the Stars and Stripes with which every American and so many world wide have become thoroughly familiar .

Today, despite frequently enough less pious motivation and impressively sculptured and protected familial tombs and grave sites, such fixation with personal legacy and flirtations with immortality typically seem more built on water than stone.

When I initiated an inquiry as to the location of Saint John's Church, before my destination and purpose could be mentioned by name, a helpful older gentleman smiled and began to give me directions based on my accent. In the case of one Penelope Washington, who led a relatively modest life and whose graveside is modestly similar, fate had a higher historic recall potential in mind than perhaps ever she'd imagined.
