I have visited this museum today with my 12 years old son. After almost two hours I had to literally pull him out of there.
Very well structured exhibition with connections between the past and present from all continents.
Fee is 560¥ and free for junior high school students.

My wife and I love going to Mister Donut whenever we’re in Japan. My wife especially looks forward to the unique offerings & flavors only offered in Japan.

Since we were in Osaka we decided to check out the museum. It was about a 15 minute straight direction walk from the subway station. Admission is free and staff were very friendly. The museum is small but the exhibits have descriptions and information in English. A couple of good photo props too.

There is also an interactive donut making class for a fee where other visitors can watch through a large glass plate window. There’s also a small little “kid friendly”cafe area at the entrance where you can sample small donut pieces with sweet dipping sauces & sprinkles (I believe there was small fee). Of course there was an actual Mister Donut shop connected next door…

All and all it was a fun hour experience (without doing the donut making class). Unfortunately we missed the class scheduled for the morning. Shoutout to the staff of 3 very nice friendly ladies that even spoke some English.

I love learning about Expos past and this little museum provided a great look back at the sights and sounds of Expo 70 in Osaka. Housed in the old Steel Pavilion in the beautiful Expo 70 Commemorative Park, the Pavilion contains an amazing collection of models, posters, maps, merchandise etc. The highlight is the model of the Tower of the Sun and attached pavilion as well as the (then) state of the art auditorium inside the Pavilion used during the Expo. This was one of my highlights in Osaka and should not be missed.

If you are interested in folk art, you must go and see. There seemed to be no permanent display. So, displayed items depend on the special exhibition. When I visited, the special exhibition was "Folk crafts of India". So, most of the displays were Indian. As I wanted to see Japanese folk craft, it was so against my expectation. However, mini shop has many Japanese items with reasonable price compared to other shops. I enjoyed shopping! When I come back next time, I must plan the date with the same period of "Japanese" special exhibition.
