What travelers are saying
- wickhamavenueSurrey, UK39 contributionsSuch an interesting museum covering Stone Age and romans mostly. Some marvellous finds from the surrounding countryside.Written March 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - A Midlife AdventureDursley, UK1,350 contributionsRight in the centre of Cirencester this grade 1 listed building is well worth a visit reflecting various architectural styles since the 12th century. The oldest parts being the chancel and attached chapel.
Built from Cotswold stone, it is one of the "largest parish churches in England" and contains various tombs and monuments along with some fragments of medieval stained glass and wall paintings.
You can pick up a guided leaflet on entry and there is also normally a volunteer guide to hand to whom you can direct any questions. Don't miss The Boleyn Cup made for Ann Boleyn in 1535.Written March 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - joanne GWiltshire, UK62 contributionsThere is a small entry fee to the sculpture park which is worth every penny. There is a small cafe for you to eat in before or after your walk. The walk through the woodlands is like an outdoor art gallery. The sculptures come in all shapes and sizes and you are given a booklet before you head round advising what they are and the cost etc should you wish to purchase one. If you are not looking to purchase anything, as we were not this is still a really lovely little couple of hours out having a wander,Written January 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sam J1 contributionThis was the 2nd driving experience brought as gifts for my son. He did the junior rally driving last year and the junior 4x4 recently. He had an absolute amazing time, the instructors are very friendly and help put the inexperienced driver at ease. They guild and encourage them to get the best out of the experience. I would highly recommend them.Written February 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- FunboyfredKent, UK10 contributionsIt’s always a lovely place to visit, and a great place to take your family and your dogs, very lucky to have this on no our doorstepWritten March 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gardengel-IoWWest Sussex, UK810 contributionsWide house, 20 minutes to walk round, very dark and didn’t scream arts and crafts to me. Have to wear covers on shoes and no photos. Only other place I have had to do that was a palace in Copenhagen. No photography either. Still used as a family home, it wasn’t very homely I’m afraid.
Garden which to be fair is what we went for, was very nice. Big and full walled kitchen garden. Lots of topiary, long borders, pots and views. Only thing not happy about in the garden, was the noise created by the ride on mower which was on the go the entire time of our visit of over an hour. This place is only open 2 afternoons a week, surely, they could have the grass cut another day.Written November 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You can get gin decanted into a bottle from a huge glass bauble- there are numerous flavours. Also in bottles of various sizes, all local. You can also get local beers, whiskey, wines and cheeses all produced in the Cotswolds. Several other bespoke outlets to visit too. A nice place to peruse.Written January 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Stella P2 contributionsAmazing. Clean. Good value. Great staff.
Excellent times. Really enjoy the aqua robics. Snacks are varied & enjoyableWritten November 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - RickybearBristol, UK6,547 contributionsSituated in the centre of Cirencester next to the church. The main entrance is next to the church graveyard. Although nothing remains of the abbey or it’s later Abbey House, the park is extensive with a large lake with resident ducks. The remains of the Roman wall are in a far corner as well as the original Norman Gate House.
Take a walk around the park admiring the mature trees with plenty of benches to ‘rest-while’. There is a children’s play area. An ideal spot for a picnic. Modern free fully accessible toilets are also available.Written August 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I had the Spinach Tart and a salad sampling of 6 types! All delicious!
The store offers fresh meat and poultry, plus gifts and chocolate. Many classes and experiences for summer.Written May 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
