Love the National Gallery, spent time in the main restaurant then looked at all the key exhibits. Mainly the rennaisance artists. Always a great visit and well worth a visit. Staff are very friendly and helpful too.
Decided to try and look round not just the main exhibitions but places I hadn't explored, discovering an incredible pottery display in a circular formation and got a proper exploration of the Cast Courts which I had only seen very briefly, as well as the Asia, African and Middle-Eastern sections with the exception of China which I think was going through refurbishment at that point. The revamp of the Japanese section I think is not as interesting as the previous layout, and I really loved the video of the dyeing process for the kimonos, it was really beautiful even without a voiceover and just subtitles. Still overall a really wonderful time and there is definitely something for everyone if you know where to look!
So much to see didn't get to see everything so I'll be back again soon. So much to learn and it's great for the whole family. I love this museum and come here a lot and would recommend it to anyone
I went because I heard good things about it from friends and since it was included in the London pass, I decided to give it a go.
The first part was a well thought out glimpse into the history of the bridge from Roman to Victorian times. Though the sets are a bit worse for wear, it was fun and the actors did their best to bring their characters to life. Especially the barman at the end was really engaging and I would have stayed and listened to him a bit longer.
Afterwards the scary part of the experience begins, within a haunted house style walking attraction. As there are several real people in there to frighten you, expect a number of jump scares. You walk through different classic horror themed areas which give off a bit of a ghost train vibe adding to the experience. Some scares are really unexpected and if you go there with younger children you might want to opt for their guardian angel option.
Visited this museum recently while in London for a few days. Free to enter and well worth a visit if you have an interest in history surrounding the World Wars in particular. Well laid out and easy to follow, the museum has lots of interesting items to look at.
Just stunning. Arrived at 10am opening, stayed til 4 pm. I downloaded the app, and used the free Wi-Fi. Just a beautiful, amazing place. Did a free tour in the afternoon, extremely well done and interesting Cafe was nice too. Can’t wait to go again In a nice area for a wander around
We took our grandchildren here as a Christmas treat and they thoroughly enjoyed it. They loved being photographed with some of their favourite characters, especially in the Marvel and Star Wats zones. At the beginning of the walk through we found it difficult because the displays didn’t seem to have names and we aren’t into ‘celebrity’ but as you walk through there are clear plaques and information boards. We avoided the horror section as two of our group were quite young but they did enjoy the black cab ride through history. Overall, it’s great attraction for kids.
I remember coming here as a child and it scared the life out of me. All of the creepy models that were there now have seemed to have disappeared and replaced by more of an actor experience. It was still really good and immersive but I do like a bit of nostalgia they should bring a good section of these back.
Amazing tour of WW1 and foundations for Royal Air Force with James. Was a mix of history and evolution of technology in very simple language. My primary school boy enjoyed the tour.
The British Library is on Euston Road and is next to St Pancras station and Euston and Kings Cross stations are close by. Behind the library is the Francis Crick Institute as well.
The library is very busy and as well as having books there are lots of places to study. When I visited virtually every place that you could study was occupied.
There are cafes around the building but they stipulate that these are places to eat or drink and not for studying.
They have regular exhibitions here and there is a decent gift shop selling library related souvenirs and books.
4 star purely on the exhibition of zimingzhong . It’s a pay what you can system to book and was fabulous . We had no expectations and were blown away . So intricate and beautiful. The rest of the museum was very chaotic with lots of bored children running about .
It was amazing! I took so many photos and the art was unique and impressive. You can go with family on any day and free (unless you want a special exhibition).
