Full disclosure, we are not art people, but we still enjoyed our short visit here. I had read this museum was more unique and a little quirky compared to other options. We were probably only here an hour, but we had fun. It was a nice change in pace compared to the churches and other museums we had been visiting. I thought it was fun and enjoyed our time here.

I really enjoyed learning more about this tremendous individual. The gallery is one floor, and the layout is sensible and easy. Everything is labeled. There are also placards in each room in various languages to explain the rooms. You can pay €5 for the audio guide, which gives a little bit of extra more than the placards in the rooms, but I don't like how the audio guide doesn't explain the foreign terms it is using... You can think of it more as a donation to the museum, since entry is free.

After a minor hickup with the misplaced pin in the tripadvisor map, i found the right building. You get to see roman copies of classical greek statues, most of them with reattached heads ("ancient but not pertinent" was the phrase i think). you get close enough to admire the fine work of sculptors. the palazzo is a little maze across two storeys (accesible to public). in the first floor don't miss the wooden painted and carved ceilings, painted imitations of marble tiles and 3D frescoes on walls. The highlight of the exhibition for me personally was the "Mars" sarcophagus with roman soldiers defeating barbarians and then the craftsmanship detailing cloth wrinkles in marble.
the palace has a peculiar story about its fireplace decoration being lost. and found following a treasure hunt contest.

if you cannot appreciate the ammount of craftsmanship and workhours required to produce these statues, deduct two stars and expect the visit to be done in one hour. Your loss.
the ground floor is wheelchair accesible. the first floor has ramps between the rooms, i am not sure i have seen a lift there tho.

Some interesting pieces here. Good stories of crime and some morbid torture machines. Would recommend as a stop on the way to somewhere else. Only took about 30 minutes all up.

What a great little museum, I would've enjoyed it even if I'd had to pay! Full of beautiful paintings and little oddities, and the two ladies who run the place are absolutely charming--they don't speak English, I don't speak Italian, they were still wonderful guides because of their warmth and enthusiasm. Truly beautiful paintings and curios throughout this small home, quite a few things we have never seen before.
It can be a little confusing to figure out, we had somebody tell us that the museum is closed with no opening hours. Not so! Go one Bridge up (North) from the bridge to Castello d'Angelo, it's on the city side, on the east side of the Tiber. The Napoleonic museum(also free, surprisingly good!) is on the frontage road, this museum is around the side. There are three doors in the "lobby", take the one in the middle. Doors open promptly at 2:30 PM, tours are around 50 minutes long, toilets are in the middle of the tour if you want them! Very grateful we made the extra effort to figure this one out.

a must to do while in Rome! doesn't matter your skils but its fun to learn and spend valuable time! Teacher, atmosphere everything is great! instead of queuing for a sandwich grab coffee and come to paint! I did sketching class and it was fun

We came across this shop by chance. Maria is a very kind and helpful person. She sells beautiful colorful pictures, which are typically prints of the original paintings.
