René gave us a most thorough tour. I especially enjoyed all of the water features and old defensive walls. Such a rich history! And now old buildings are being lovingly repurposed. A fascinating story of preservation and advancement. Maastricht has become a university town.

We joined the walking tour on the 30th of December, 2023. The tour was highly informative and took us all over the city to the main sights. Our tour guide really knew his stuff and made the walk a fun-filled experience, with a few jokes sprinkled in.

I would highly recommend the tour to gain an overview of the city and it's history. The walk does include some steps and slight hills.

As a group of friends consisting of 4 Germans, 2 English and 2 Limburgers, we enjoyed the stories and explanations of our guide Peter during the tour. Even we as Limburgers got education about our beautiful Maastricht and its surroundings. Peter was present in the city well before the agreed time. He was very well understood and spoke English and German fluently in addition to his Maastricht dialect and Dutch.

On behalf of the group and with a smile, thank you Peter, we highly recommend you.

Raoul was an amazing guide. He is very attentive, kind, and a good runner. He asked me what I want to see and he adjusted the tour accordingly, and to my pace. He is clearly passionated and he was a wealth of information.
    I highly recommend him

We took the Eurostar from St Pancras to Amsterdam with a connecting train to Maastricht. On arrival in Amsterdam we found our connecting train had been cancelled due to scheduled track maintenance. The info desk in Amsterdam station was unmanned, so with the help of platform staff, we started a long journey to Maastricht, changing trains four times. We finally arrived exhausted into Maastricht. A cab took us to the Novotel, literally five minutes drive from the station.
Five stars for the Novotel - it was very clean & comfortable, breakfast was amazing & the staff were super helpful. We’d easily stay there again. The first night we walked to a Greek restaurant nearby, we got lost & should have taken a cab. The food was fab!
We attended the fantastic André Rieu concert - how memorable! Highly recommended.
Shopping in Maastricht is a must too. And all of the restaurants we ate at were excellent.
Maastricht is a beautiful city, lots to see & everyone was helpful & friendly.
A staff member at Maastricht station told us the best route/time to return to Amsterdam (train/fast bus & train). It was a simpler journey back & we made the Eurostar home in plenty of time.
    A great trip!
