- BorzovRijeka, Croatia5,256 contributionsThe origins of the palace, known also as the Palazzo degli Anziani, date back to the 13th century, when the city became an important and flourishing town with a need of a representative building for the city officials. Very interesting feature of the palace is the pathway that connects the palace with the cathedral over a bridge. It is an elegant building and a viewpoint at the central square.Written October 17, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ron SNew York City, NY5,471 contributionsThe Palazzo Pretorio was built in the 14th century. The building is occupied by the city court now so I'm not sure if one can tour it.Written June 1, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BorzovRijeka, Croatia5,256 contributionsThe building owes its name to the local tradition that it was the seat of the Captain, directly elected by the people, who has the military powers to protect the interests of the city. This tradition was discontinued in the 14th century when the magistrate from Florence replaced the Captain. The structure in Via Stracceria undergone so many refurbishments and changes but the traces of its original presence are still visible.Written October 17, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
