I hadn’t pre-booked but was lucky to get on a 10 am tour when I turned up. The pricing structure seems quite complicated – 6000/£13 for EU citizens, more expensive for non-EU but cheaper if you are a student under 24. Anyway, the building is certainly impressive inside, very ornate. You’re not allowed to take pictures of the inside of the dome or crown though. Earpiece commentary was quite good but the whole experience only lasted 45 minutes. Worth seeing, yes, but expensive.

Smaller church on the Buda side. Must have a ticket to get in. Beautiful inside, can go into 2nd level and look down over the main sanctuary from the balconies.

Whether you are Jewish or not, you should not miss the opportunity to visit this place if you are visiting Budapest. Fantastic Architecture and the Memorials give you plenty to think about. The visit is worth the entrance fee of 9,000 Ft per person.

We did not have to wait in queue and we walked straight in and got seated. We ordered the New York hot chocolate and cake for €24. Overall it is incredibly expensive but if you share a beverage and a cake it is worth the experience as the building and decor is incredibly beautiful. There was live music being played in the background which was enjoyable. Overall I would recommend but don’t bother if there is large queues.

The Gresham Palace is an incredible venue with absolutely impeccable service. From check in, to dining, to concierge services and a spa/gym that never disappoint, the experience at the Gresham Palace is made all the more memorable thanks to its excellent team of staff.

We took an afternoon tour. The guide was clearly passionate about the subject, and the concert hall is undeniably beautiful.

Duna Palota ("Danube Palace") - a former casino, and today a venue and ticket office for Hungarian Concert's popular tourist shows. Located very conveniently in the center of the Old Town, on Zrinyi Utca, and the concerts are held place here almost 365 days a year. We attended the popular concert named Hungarian Folk Show. Duna Palota is medium size theater but beautiful and ceremonial.

My best suggestion - If you want to have a very good seats, book in advance on official site - the tickets category 1 (37 euros) and choose the rows between 5-8. Get the confirmation by email, print and bring it to cashier, be there at least 20 minutes before the show starts, you should have enough time to exchange your voucher to actual paper ticket. This is critical and important. On time when we exchanged our vouchers, it was a 10 people line before us, with one person in the case. And plus to this it was an incident - the couple who bought their tickets from third party was not able to exchange their confirmations due double sale. It was long conversation with a cashier who had stated - this is not my fault - go to your agency where you bought a tickets. This dispute took time and we were afraid that we wouldn’t have time before start the performance. Then it was also necessary to climb up the several fly of stairs.

So be there in advance and DON'T BUY the tickets from third party - book online on official site or personal on spot. In additional the official site proposes a taxi transfer if you need for 14 euros round trip. Plus if you want, you can add to your show tickets - the evening dinner cruise by Danube after show. The concert was good, with 10 minutes intermission. Dress code- possibly Smart Casual. While highbrow classical music buffs will want a more serious concert, these show is crowd-pleaser with national Hungarian music, dances and songs.

The palace floor and reading rooms are amazing. If you are a reader I recommend bringing your book and taking time to just read in one of the armchairs in the reading room. Single visit tourist tickets available at the front desk.

Amazing ceramic collection which is worth seeing. Slightly weird that the museum has a gun carrying security guard. Can't see why that is necessary.

One of the most beautiful theatre buildings in Budapest is Pesti Vigado .
Constructed between 1859- and opened in 1864 and designed by Frigyes Feszl .
I love the look of this building ,on the facade is the Hungarian coat of arms ,the pillar structures were the work of sculpture Karoly Alexy .
This building was damaged during the bitter battles that took place in Budapest during World War Two,rebuilt post war and declared a National Monument in 1954 ,further renovations have took place to leave us with this stunning building we view today ,we were here on a cold November afternoon ,we sat outside Pointer Pub Budapest enjoying a beer and taking in the beauty of not just Pesti Vigado and Vigado Square .
Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

We visited the history museum after the national gallery, it was ok here but not as inspiring as the gallery. One of the reasons we came to visit Budapest was because of the history learnt when we visited Vienna early this year on the Habsburgs, but when visiting this museum we didn’t get the same sort of vibe. Friendly staff though and worth a one time visit.

When thinking of a classic European train ride this is simply not it. The station itself is small and lacks the sufficient guidance to help one navigate where to go. If using this station plan accordingly.

My wife and I were completing our Viking Danube Eastern European cruise, and upon departing the ship, were taken on a bus tour of several highlights of Budapest. Evidently it is standard operating procedure for them to include a visit here.
I fully endorse many of the prior reviews posted here. Specifically, the church provides for a nice exterior photo op, but otherwise, it is primarily noteworthy for its history...which is SO WELL described in a prior review, that it would be superfluous for me to repeat it. The interior of the facility is nowhere nearly as ornate as many Roman Catholic churches tend to be, but its painted ceiling is definitely unique, and they have done a nice job having scattered see-though glass floor panels allowing for visualization of prior church ruins. They have done the best they could vis a vis trying to restore the frescoes which were aggressively painted over during the mosque years.
We did not realize there was an admission charge, evidently Viking deals with this directly with the church.
Our guide admitted that since so many of had seen many religious facilities over our prior years of travel, not to mention this tour in specific, she asked us to NOT consider it an "ABC"...evidently a sarcastic reference to a cynical visitor who might classify this as "Another Beautiful Church".
    We are glad we visited.
